Another Price Increase Thread

I know, I know...but...

Historically, has there been a time of the month when the price increases have hit? I know we hear, a price increase may hit in February. Does that mean, Feb 1st? Feb 15th? Has there been not method to past price increase maddness?

The following months are notorious for price increases:
JAN,FEB,MAR,APR,MAY,JUN,JUL,AUG,SEP,OCT,NOV & DEC ...

any other month, you are guaranteed not to have a price hike ...

And of these months mentioned, only the one's with 29, 30 or 31 days are applicable.

This link shows the price increase progression over the years. It needs to be updated as it doesn't list the SD's current price etc. It doesn't say what time of the month the increase took place but it's interesting nonetheless.

I don't think we can calculate when price increases come. After all, Rolex is not interested in customers speculating when to buy.

It only really matters if you are buying in the near future.
So who cares

The local AD told me that we are definitely going to see a price increase in Feb, something about exchange rate and cost of raw materials. He thought it would be earlier vs later in the month.

That's reality. It's been 15 months since the last increase.

I killed some time today by visiting two AD's at the local mall to kick some tires, and see if any of them had any 116710's.

Both AD's were saying they have been hearing of a 10% increase coming up. They may be drinking the Kool Aid, but that's the word being passed out around these parts.

As a side note, in the AD I was in with the larger Rolex collection, the other customer was a guy from the Netherlands. When I was lamenting the fact that they had sold their 116710 yesterday before I could see it, he asked me if I would like to see his! He graciously took it off and I got to try it on. He said he would only do it for me because I'm also an owner (is there a secret handshake?). I of course offered to let him try on Bluesy, but he passed. I put on his GMT, complete with scratches (yes it does scratch, but who cares?). IT SINGS TO ME. I LOVE IT! Super nice guy and we talked for a while. He is considering buying a couple Rolex watches here as they are so much less than in Europe. He paid between $7 and $8K for his! WOW!

I paid 8032 $ for my GMT II C. It is a huge price difference if you consider the fact that the MSRP in the US is 5950.

I just made some calculations. The GMT II C is 2082$ cheaper in the US + you can get a discount there. I got no discount when i bought mine

Velitsko, you should have come to the USA for holiday and bought the watch! You could have had a nice vacation for that $2K USD!

I know i'll have that in mind next time. Right now i am so happy with the GMT II C and i am pretty sure that i will continue to be happy with it. I am not annoyed by the fact that i paid a lot more money cause this europe and everything is expensive because of the euro currency. This watch deserves every single cent spent.
