1. More than 8 months...Safely inside my safe having a beauty rest, esp my Daytona, DJ, DD and GMT.
2. None
3. Yup, I try to provide all my Rolexes with some wrist time - some wear with more wrist time others like Daytona less and on special events only.

Can't remember a day in the last 8 years when I've not worn one of them, nothing remains BNIB & the only watch that sees no wrist time is my Daytona, bought on a whim but at a great price so a keeper regardless.

1: Some several years.
2: No, all bought to use and enjoy.
3: Yes , some on special occasions , some as a tool (beater) , some for pure pleasure.
In one day I can easily switch between 3 watches. But there are times I wear one watch only for weeks or even months.

i rotate through my watches but not equally. Every once in a while i consider selling a piece when I realize i have not worn it in some time. I either make sure i put it back in the rotation or sell it. I guess in my analysis I try to figure out why i am not wearing it. If there is a reason such as it is not so comfortable or too big.. that is when it goes up for sale.

Also are there any people out there that collect some watches and don't wear them? Keeping them BNIB?

1. Whats the longest you have not worn a watch that you own?
2. Do you have any BNIB that are for collection purposes only?
3. Do all your watches get wrist time?

1. I've gone months without wearing a specific watch.
2. I buy to wear, and use them as intended.
3. Yes all have some wrist time, but some more than others.

1. In my current collection only about a week max. If longer I consider flipping.
2. No. I personally buy watches to wear
3. Yes or they get sold.

I think the 3-5 mantra works well for seasoned collectors. I think most of us had a time when we were amassing watches and really figuring out our tastes. Then the collection gets trimmed as you narrow it down to watches important to you. Once you get a real keeper or two, they can monopolize wrist time.

I have about 12 watches. My intent is to wear any watch i buy.. them all but I admit I have a few that are in more frequent rotation and others I probably wear once or twice every 2 or 3 months. There are a couple I ended up selling but even the ones I still have that I do not wear often --- I still cannot part with them.. When i wear those pieces-- I think --- i should wear more often because i really like them..and cannot think of selling them. However there is one or two pieces I would like to get and I made myself an agreement that I will sell at least one for any new acquisition. Part of the issue is funding -- cannot afford the piece I want to get next and I would likely sell two pieces to help fund.

Of note, If i have not worn a watch for a couple of months-- I do wind them up for a couple of days.
And I usually wear the same watch for 1-3 days at a time. On occasion I will switch in the middle of the day-- e.g. weekend.. based on activities. I do travel a fair bit but mostly for 1-4 days at a time and I have never brought an extra watch.

All watches get wrist time and I rotate them depending on how I feel. Some pieces have been in the herd for roughly 10 years. What is the fun if you can't wear them!

1. Several years (my Spaceview hasn't been serviced or fitted with a battery in quite some time ... I inherited it from my stepfather and the special batteries are very hard to find)
2. No
3. Eventually, with the possible exception of No. 1 above ... although now that I think about it, I really should get that Spaceview up and running!

about 1 month

2. Do you have any BNIB that are for collection purposes only?

No

3. Do all your watches get wrist time?

Yes

When i put on a watch after quite some time, it feels like a new watch. each one has its own appeal. i don't think i could flip them.

i have flipped 1 watch though my pam112 i have been disenchanted by the way the brand was going and i didnt regret so far.

1. 2 years most of the ones that get the least attention are my quartz eco drives, mostly because they never need attention, they just keep running.

2. Never.

3. Out of my 23, about 8 get little or no attention at all, but these are my lower end stuff that would be more of hassle to flip then keep.

I own 13 watches right now. I do have a few I wear more often. When i travel I never take a second watch. My trips are a week or less. When i am home, I wear a particular watch for 1 to 3 days before switching out. There is one watch I only wear in pool parties. The others get worn -- the longest no-wear is probably 2 months.

You sound like you gained your sanity over this WIS sickness. I currently own 24 watches and would love to get down to just 8 to 10.

I don't think I could ever get to "one" watch.

I have seven and I try to give each it's own day but if not each gets a few days a month of wear. Sometimes I wear one during the day and switch to another for the evening.

Have to have watch on every single day.

Rotate ten watches on a regular basis.

All watches get wrist time at some point during the year.

2. No joy in looking at a watch doing nothing.
