Old Datejust - Any Info?

I was at a friend's house for dinner and mentioned watches. Someone went away and brought out this guy. His dad passed it down to him. Hasn't had a service lately and the bracelet has obviously seen better days.

I can't seem to find similar pictures of the little pearls by the hour markers. Can anyone provide any details about model, age or value? Sorry for the blurry cellphone pics.

Thanks

There are many dials. This is a 1601 in gold from the late 60 to mid 70s

+1. I would add that the band look original to the watch.

Thanks for the info. Adding that ref makes it much easier to find info.

The clasp was engraved with his father's name when it was purchased. Happens to be his name too, which is kind of neat.

and those little "pearls" are tritium dots that use to luminate in the dark.
value, 3000-5k depending on the person. its not in the best of shape, usually for 5k you can get one near pristine.

Looks like a piepan Datejust, which should make it a 1601 in either 18k or 14k (they made both). I think the gold content is marked on the back of one of the lugs. Valuable watch that is definitely worth taking care of. If the owner doesn't want to do anything, soon, with the bracelet, the watch makes a very nice strap watch, as well.
