Prediction of Cal 321 Moonwatch for the masses
With the cal 321 Platinum announced last night to coincide with landing on the moon, I predict the cal 321 "true Moonwatch" for masses with Hesalite crystal and solid caseback will be announced at UTC 16:50:35 on July 24.
To coincide with the splashdown. You heard it first here, folks, |

Why do you think this? To build up production stock?
I have nothing to go on with my prediction. Just a hunch. I had a hunch they would intro the 321 model last night, which they did. But, my hunch was way off. I thought they would intro a moonwatch for the masses. Cheers! |

I'm with WatchGuy1966 on this. I don't think it will be a year or two before Omega announces the stainless Speedmaster 321 because production of the 321 movement is projected to be 2,000 units a year and I believe it is unlikely Omega will make 2,000 platinum 321 Speedmasters.

Prediction of Cal 321 Moonwatch for the masses
I think the 321 stays in PM cases or steel LE. I don’t think it will end up in regular production SS cases... I think this is what the 3861 is destined for.

Maybe. It will come to other SE/LE and will make it into a straight SS model eventually.

First of all, when Omega says something will be released and when it finally hits the market are two completely different things. People are still taking delivery of Seamaster 1948's/what-have-you. Ergo, Omega says this will be delivered early next year, it will be a year before they shipping in larger amounts.
I wouldn't be surprised if Omega "announces" a 321 Cal ss Speedmaster later this year or early next year - whenever they need additional marketing boost - but when you can actually get your hands on a watch will be longer in the future. Finally, yes, highly unlikely Omega will make 2K PT Speedmasters, but reports said "up to 2,000 321's per year" that can mean a lot less as well, however, the PT Speedy is non-LE so they can keep making said watch for as long as you want. I'd love to be proven wrong but I personally think, based on Omega's track record, that it will be 1-2 years before you can get your hands on a 321-powered ss Speedmaster. Meanwhile, I'm enjoy my humble current production ss Speedy ;-) |

That may be true, but that is not what you said in your original response to WatchGuy1966's post about when the SS 321 Speedmaster would be announced.

Prediction????
It's another LE piece that Omega has been doing for decades - no prediction required.

I don't think you'll see the 321 in a modern stainless. MHO.

321 will get to stainless. Not as well finished, and certainly not this year.
