#16 AP House - Miami Penthouse Shopping Center

i made an interesting post here about the current state of ap and with the latest news of a mega miami penthouse ap house leaves a sour taste.

planning to open early 2024, i am not a fan of the recent marketing and social transition to more celebrities and frat like environment vs staying true to their independent watchmaking routes.

i honestly still see ap being absorbed by lvmh in the future and with the recent push for more social and lifestyle marketing, seems to be more so. if this were to indeed come to fruition, patek and rolex would the last standing.

How do people actually use these AP Houses? Do you just make an appointment and go hang out? It feels odd also having a boutique relationship with an AP House in the same city.

I think this can be viewed in two ways:

First, the opening of nice fancy AP Houses is not wrong. I actually like it when brands take the time to build and invest in proper infrastructures to represent the brand. A lot of people were uncertain back in the early 2000s when Apple opened their first Apple Store in NYC, but today Apple Stores worldwide have become flagship properties of their respective places. A well-designed place can only boost the brand’s profile and attract more customers to visit, which in turn will lead to more sales down the road. The new AP Penthouse is indeed a unique concept that has not been tried before (besides scammer TPG) and would create a new experience for buyers.

Secondly, AP is 1000% too celebrity heavy at the moment. However, this is more FHB’s influence than AP’s fault. With FHB leaving, it will be up to the new CEO to decide the path forward for AP and I certainly hope she tones down the celebrity culture at AP.

I have visited 6-7 boutiques and houses

1- Barcelona House is amazing
2- Capri boutique is very small
3- Monaco’s was very small but the guy was hilarious and we had a great time talking about Monaco and watches.
4- Florence has the smallest boutique located in the middle of a bridge it’s like a bathroom sized closet and the two SAs where both very helpful and I learned that if the toilets back up in just one of the shops on the bridge they all back up and over flow ��
5- Atlanta (watches of Switzerland) small boutique weird AP affiliated
6- Rome Boutique was medium sized lots of watches on display at the time

I really enjoy the Houses Far better for the atmosphere and the privacy you get when dealing with the SA. Rather than the tiny boutiques.

NYC and Miami are on my list to visit next maybe Vegas

Right now I really like where the market is going. Less investors and Crypto boys and more real collectors

How do you ask to use the pool when looking at watches haha. Interesting, can't wait to see how this one develops. Still need to visit the new AP house in LA.

It’s perfect - now the kids are excited as you are to head over to the AP store!

My 6 year old daughter loves going to AP house in London, they always treat her like a VIP.
