seadweller power reserve/auto winding

Hi all,

I'd be grateful if someone could give me some info for my new Seadweller (new to me 2004 model).

I checked PR and it was 44hrs on full wind. Keeps great time at +1-2 seconds/24hrs.

My question is how much do I have to wear it to see a significant wind? I have had it stop on me while wearing it a few times. I wear it perhaps every other day. Should I expect it to wind itself enough during that 10-12 hrs of wear so I shouldn't have to wind it before I put it down for hrs?

I'm concerned the auto function is not working.

Insight is greatly appreciated.

tx.

It should not stop while you are wearing it; even if you only wear it every other day. Assuming that you are awake, your normal movements should be enough to keep it wound.

According to the booklet, it probably takes 6-8 hr of wrist time to wind fully. Of course, this depends on how active you are and mine winds within a hour when I'm on the elliptical machine....

You should wind it a good 40+ turns before putting it on. Keep in mind you can not over wind an automatic watch.

I would recommend atleast 8 hours a day of wear to keep it going.

thanks.

I guess I'll give'er another chance and then take it in if it stops again. the fact that it stopped while I was wearing it sketched me out. It just seems weird that everything else seems to work perfectly.

Once fully wound from a manual wind start around 40 plus crown turns. If you wear watch between 8-12 hours a day and fairly active not sat at a desk all day.Your watch should have sufficient power to keep it going. But you will do no harm whatsoever to give your watch a occasional manual wind weekly or more.Power
reserve is around normal for a 5 year old watch.

I have to disagree. I think wearing it every other day is not enough to keep it wound (unless you are really active). I've had my Rolex and Tissot stop on me while wearing them. So I know it's not a problem specific to one watch.

If I wear my Rolex constantly, every day, except when sleeping and showering, it won't stop. But if I take it off for six or seven hours during the day, and then do this repeatedly three or four days in a row, it'll usually stop the following night while I'm sleeping. Although, a couple times it has stopped while on my wrist.

I agree with Greg..

Wearing a watch every other day will eventually lead to the watch only having whatever wind you put in it for that time..... for many who are not particularly active, that might only be a couple of hours.

What if you do this for a living and it still doesn't help?
