Authenticity check!

Hi all, picked this up at an estate sale for next to nothing. Gonna have someone open up the case back this week, but just wondering if there is anything obviously wrong with it. And please don't just say it's fake because I got it from an estate sale, please actually specify what is off. Thank you!

Why don't you take it to a jeweller or AD to have it checked out since you bought it already. It doesn't make any difference now.

I can not authenticate that photo, but it looks "odd"

PS we dont list here reasons why

Yes it’s a replica but we don’t describe the reasons in detail. The dial gives yours away.

Here’s a genuine one pictured on Chrono24 for comparison.

The tilt of the numbers on the bezel - particularly the "0" in the "40" looks off.

"Rolex" lettering, particularly the serif on the "X" looks off.

Usually when someone is selling a watch they say they don't know is real or an estate sale, it's fake. They would take something worth the kind of money a rolex is... and have it checked. I mean, there is real value in watches. Especially a submariner at this point in time. Nobody that has the best interest of a an estate is just going to let 5 grand walk out the door like it's nothing. Even people that aren't into watches associate a Rolex with money.

Exactly, my law partner does probate everyone recognizes the Crown. You might pick up a different less recognized brand that slipped through the cracks, but not Rolex.

The better question is what did OP pay that he classifies as "next to nothing" anything over $20 is something.
