The dial differences are subtle and what I hear some folks like the 15400 over 15500 and vice versa, but marginally. It comes down to the fact 15400 will be in the second hand market, but I must say even getting the 15500 from the boutique comes with wait time. So to Lo0o0on, you can’t go wrong with either model as long as it is something you will enjoy having on your wrist.

The thickness on the 15500 is a little hard to get used to when you are already familiar with the 15300 and 15400.

Yeah totally know what you mean, I had 15300 then replaced it with 15400, my dad got his 15500, it feels a lot chunkier for my tiny wrist. Decided to keep the 15400

Yeah my mates and I sat down with all 3 models. 15300, 15400,15500.

Got to say the 15500 proportions were just off compared to the other two. But dont get me wrong, the dial color and the movement is still a thing of beauty. However its the little things that makes the whole lot of difference.

I disagree. I did think the same, that it would be unbalanced visually, but when I saw a 15500 in person I immediately knew the 'bare' dial is an improvement. It just is.

They are both beautiful. I have blue 400 and am considering adding a grey 500 ... or maybe wait until they release the white (I am sure they eventually will).

Value wise, who knows and more importantly ... who cares.

The common perception is that discontinued means more desirability.....not sure from where, or how that thought process is derived...especially with modern references.

While I like them both, I prefer the clean look of the 500 dial.

Just my .02

I totally agree, Is it nonsense to trade up for the grey 15500?

Dealers will use the excuse of it being oh so rare now as the usual excuse to raise prices but will depend in the end on whether enough demand is there once supply ends, a lot depends on the 500.

Yes. The difference is not big enough to justify trading blue to grey unless you’re putting money in your pocket, which you should be.

the date window on the 15500 to me seems too close to the edge.. 15400 looks better.

Completely agree.

With all of the hype between Rolex and PP - I’ve been seriously contemplating locking them away - and wearing AP exclusively for a while.

I did that about 4 years ago - just wore my APs only and loved it. Bounced back between ROC and ROO.
