It is a Seiko SRP315. The kit from Amazon has a spring bar tool, a plastic block to hold the watch, a bunch of spring bars, a mallet for tapping and a few other odds and ends.

I watched a couple of videos, including Mark from LI Watch, and I bumbled my way through my first NATO strap installation.

Do other people cut off the excess strap? I have heard that one cuts it around a coin and then cauterized with a flame.

You could fold it back over or underneath rather than cutting it.

I do this (coin and flame), but fwiw, I use cheaper nato straps (as opposed to some of the more expensive OEM versions. Only cut a little at a time, lest you take too much off--I switch from hole to hole on a nato sometimes depending on the wrist feel and you won't be able to if you cut the maximum off.

My NATO is the seat belt material type and seems a little stiff to bend back. I will contemplate my options before I start cutting.

I skipped putting it through the first keeper and only threaded it through the second keeper. It’s shorter at the end now. I am hesitant to cut and ruin it. Seat belt material.

Ok, now I am dangerous. I put seatbelt Natos on my second gen Orange Monster and Dracula. I put a Bonetto Cinturini strap on a black and gold Seiko 5 diver. I felt like I was annoying my jeweler with strap changes.

Another thing to try if you have smaller wrists is to initially attach it to your wrist by looping the long end through the metal keeper that would normally go under the watch, if that makes sense. So rather than have that piece of cloth strapped so that it is directly beneath the caseback, use it to strap it around your wrist and then loop it through the normal keepers second. In my opinion it fits better because the case back is hugging your wrist directly and you are using additional nato material in the process.

This watch uses Seiko Fat Bars. The best tool to use since it does not have drilled lugs is a swiss army knife. Just put in down in between the spring bar and the case and twist sideways. The stock spring bars suck to remove since they do have shoulders on them

Probably. This dude is in some trouble these days. He stole some content from someone and when they asked for him to remove it he declined. So his channel has been flagged last I heard. He did not do this once he did it twice.

There are tricks to changing them you will learn. For Seiko Fat bars that have no shoulders the swiss army knife seems to be the best tool to use. I posted a video above showing how.
