Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A-001

Hi everyone 1st post here used the search feature and could not find my answer, so here it goes!!

If I buy a Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A-001 on bracelet, can I purchase the rubber band separately? Also, will I have make any modification(s) to add the rubber strap?

Thx you,
Desh

You need to buy both the rubber strap and the deployant buckle.

Yes, you can add the rubber strap later most bracelet owners do that. No you dont need to have any modifications done.

When I enquired about my 5167 I was told the 5167 1A-001 was easier and quicker (about 6 months) to get instore than the version on rubber and that it wouldn't be a problem sourcing a rubber strap and deployment clasp. Obviously, the rrp on the 1A is £2260 more plus whatever the rubber and deployment cost, I'd expect about £800. They said they do it a lot.

I didn't buy from them ultimately.

Ha!
I fell for the same line. Put a deposit down on a 1A with an expected 8 month delivery. That was 11 months ago hehe.
Ah well.. I want to sell 2 other watches before I pick it up so it gives me time. I just hope they don't up the price of it before I get it.

Negotiate for the dealer to include the strap/deployant - they did for me, otherwise it is $1,500.

I was offered a 5167a on rubber unexpectedly yesterday but turned it down as I have one already. That would have been around a year wait. Personally I’m not a fan of the bracelet, I found it very light and tinny when I tried one on but love it on rubber.

My AD included it in the purchase... doesn't hurt to ask!

Of course you can add the rubber strap when desired. I don't think you need to have any modifications done btw.

Absolute winner, part of me wishes I had taken the steel bracelet 5167 just to give the option of changing between both. First world problems

Didn’t want to jeopardise getting any models in the future by buying to resell and would rather someone who really wanted one got it.
