Incoming!

The tracking number has been posted, so my desire to "not jinx this" is still pretty high, but decreasing.

So.....

Incoming!
I traded my AP ROO Rubberclad for an AP ROO Bumblebee

The Rubberclad was my first AP - and I loved it! It unfortunately has gotten to the point where I will not keep a watch if there is any issue - and my eyes have gotten to where the lume hands were not sufficient contrast on a silver dial for me to be easily able to read the watch.

I've already ordered a super cheap no-name eBay pin buckle so I can wear the watch on original hornback asap - the AP deployant is so uncomfortable on me. And, I'm almost certain I'm going to try to get the yellow diver strap from AP in Clearwater.

As a separate note on the whole watch re-sale world right now:
It's a MESS!!!!!!
The few watches that are "hot" are the few currently holding value. Everything else is worth pennies on the many dollars that they cost.
(Of note, re: AP, multiple dealers said "RO is moveable, ROO not so much")
If you try to trade, expect most dealers to totally low-ball. Sure, I understand they are taking a risk with any trade/purchase that they will sit on the watch unsold, but some of the offers are staggeringly low.
Trying to sell as a private party is no easier. I have had 3 folk so far try to scam on a different watch I'm trying to sell. All 3 "spoofed" a real, known watch seller. And, all scumbags disappeared when I asked to see pictures of the watch they had with current time/date confirmation.

It sounds like you’ve been unlucky, a pal of mine has just sold his ss black face Diver for £12,000 giving him a reasonable profit, also looking at Chrono 24 the prices look relatively strong, prices actually look slightly more today than the watch retailed for originally and don’t forget that 12-15 years ago it was possible to get a discount on these models.

Rubber clads can really suffer with the bezel condition. With a brand new rubber bezel that is still a killer watch.

Just sold my rubberclub for what I thought was a fair price. They appear to be going for about 14-15k on various websites, you should be able to get within 1500-2500 of that amount for your watch.

Congrats on the bee! One of my favorites.

I toyed with the idea of trading my 44 rose gold ROO and got a fair offer from my go to usual suspect.

After an overly (and unncessarily) stressful delivery situation I actually finally have the watch in hand!

It's everything I had hoped for!
This version has very crisp edges with no/ little visible marks.
Amazing how light and comfortable this watch is - and the contrast of ceramic polish and brushed with the FC case is striking.
I even feel the AP deployant in Ti (with an overall lighter watch) is not painful - and actually might be described as comfortable - and I could NOT wear the deployant with the Rubberclad.
However, it does look a bit odd on a hornback, so I am going to order a yellow diver from AP, and I've already ordered a knock-off diver tang in black from Horus straps.

The numbers you quote are at least $1-2K higher than what I was seeing.
Chrono24 lists the watch as selling avg: $13,6xx and a range of $13K-14K.
A reseller I know has been sitting on a Rubberclad for a while at $13-ish with little movement.
Of note, mine had AP service 3 years ago, and mint bezel, pushers, & crown w papers but only OEM AP ROO box (not the original).
But, it really doesn't matter if you don't wear the watch as you cannot read it!

This AP ROO I can read!!!!!!

Absolutely love it. Congrats! I’d potentially inquire about swapping for a black date wheel. They used to do it but not sure they still do.

Thanks everyone!
So happy with this watch.
The hornback strap really feels fragile (I can see where the inner metal piece will eventually/ soon wear through the side of the strap) so I contacted AP for a yellow rubber diver strap plus a couple of the questions raised in this thread.
I learned a couple of things:
- AP has not ever used/ swapped a black date wheel on the Bumblebee and therefore will NOT make the alteration
- There are NO black/ PVD/DLC Diver Tang buckles available from AP (I'll report back on the similar shape and size eBay DLC buckle after the rubber strap arrives - the grey rubber I have with me currently looks awful next to the FC case)
- A new AP OEM rubber strap is $291 + $30 overnight shipping in CONUS (as of August 2019)
