I will, but the roommate in question was back when I was doing grad school in Montreal. Other items disappeared from boxes after I packed them when I moved out (one that stung was a inukshuk figure that he was particularly fond of) but I didn’t bother to make a big deal of it since I was already in a different province.

I never argued said the one I posted was real. I described the circumstances on how I ended up with it. I was already incredibly suspicious it about when I posted.

Question, exactly what made you suddenly suspicious?

Actually a very funny answer, glad you are finally on board.

What kind of nefarious purposes did you have in mind? Seems legit to me

My experience with communicating with people on forums is there's a lot of jerks. I guess they can be because there's no face to face interaction. There's a lot of good folks too. Don't let the rude ones get you down

I find it very hard to believe that a roommate could have "pulled a fast one" on you by switching your watch for a fake. If I tried on ANY other 16710 in the world, I'd instantly know it's not mine due to the various scratches, marks, the way it fits and the stretch in the bracelet etc. I look at my watch multiple times a day, I'm going to recognize if it looks completely different all of a sudden.

Yet you're trying to suggest that you didn't realise that your roommate swapped your genuine watch for this POS fake?! Go get another hobby troll.. this is pretty pathetic.

Mods, fancy banning this person?

Sadly I completely agree. My watches are completely unique and I know every ding and tiny scratch. So the 'room mate' was able to precisely size the bracelet like for like? I'm not buying OP failed to notice the difference...... until now.

I continued to respond to be polite and answer despite the tone of most of the later responses. As it has devolved as such, I “won’t let the door hit me on my way out” as the saying goes.

Well, that was speculation. Either that or I was taken from the beginning. Either one is just my own stupidity.

Since I moved here, it’s been in a safety deposit box (yes, the irony of a bank held fake watch). More irony given my current situation: I was always too nervous something would happen to it on the few occasions I wore it so I ended up tucking it away.

I don’t think you were taken from the beginning, you had it serviced and cleaned at a Rolex dealership and they confirmed it was authentic iirc.

I am just getting back into this forum after years out of the watch collecting game. Some things never change. No way OP thinks this watch is real.

You can safely close this thread out. The watch in question was not manufactured by Rolex. It has many issues that we cannot go into details on.

Best of luck to you OP.

Moving on.
