[A. Lange & Söhne] Finally Adding Some Precious Metal To The Collection
Hi friends. I just picked up my first dress watch, an A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1. This particular reference is in platinum with a black dial and is the only Lange 1 with a black date wheel (from what I understand). It’s a reference that was made in the late 90’s/early 2000’s and this particular example is from 2002. The dial changes from a deep black to a medium grey depending on the light. I work in a pretty casual environment so I’ve stuck to sports watches generally, but it feels good to have a nice alligator strap on occasion. It’s also my first precious metal piece and the heft to it is impressive. I love the yellow/rose gold references, but the mismatch between a yellow/rose gold watch and my platinum wedding ring has always bothered me. I was worried it might feel too dressy, but I don’t find that to be the case. Enjoy!

Love the watch, I’ve been hoping to add another Lange to the collection, and a PT. Lange 1 with black Dial is about as good as it gets.

Amazing. I love the black date wheel - the reason I bought the platinum 1 Moonphase was because of the glaring white date on the white gold.
