I think it's a great watch, the only thing keeping me away for now is the price, hopefully that will change soon

It is my fav gold rolex. I just can't part with my collection to afford it lol. Also it's not as compfortable as my other watches due to the weight. I'll keep it on my radar though :). Irony is all the buying and selling I've done of the years this would have been a freebie by now lol.

Whoa! I would be very careful about telling strangers in foreign places that you have a gold Rolex. That smile could well have been a setup for a mugging.

I love it too, but wonder if it is a scratch magnet.

I'm inclined to be agree. We've had a few of these stories over the years.

Just put your hand through the bracelet and close your fist. Great knuckle-dusters ala James Bond.

Guys, apparently you weren't paying attention. He said she was stunning!

----

The WG Sub is the nuts for sure. But whatever your intentions, flying under the radar is out the window because the blue sure makes the watch stand out (in a good way). I was with my son at the AD looking at Subs and he was immediately drawn to it. He said "Oh wow, they make it in blue!"

To which I of course replied, "Yes, but you can buy four of the black or green ones for the price of the blue one."

Personally while I have a couple of precious pieces in the barn, they've been around a while. I don't choose to spend that kind of money on a watch. So if I were in the market right now I'd probably wait on the WG GMT to become available first before making my decision to pull the trigger on anything WG. YMMV, of course.

Great watch, the blue is amazing, but apart if you have serious financial possibilities it's not the watch on which I would spend 30.000 euros, would definitely buy it if it was SS, as I intend on buying the Hulk one day, but my next one on the list now is also worth 29.500 euros, but has alarm, GMT, date, 2 PR indicators, 1 for alarm and 1 for the watch, sapphire caseback, and from a company which dates to 1735 which strangely enough is not well known by amateurs of nice watches in many countries, not the case in France. They have a fabulous horological history, with creations of many complications, their diving watch, the Fifty Fathoms, was launched the same year Rolex launched the sub, it has been worn by french army divers with the same WR level as the sub, to resume it's Blancpain, and the model in question that has me obsessed is the "Leman alarm GMT, here are some pics:

2841-36B30-64B_front-4.jpg

2841-36B30-64B_back-3.jpg

This is a 30.000 euro watch I will buy, but that's retail price, through my fav grey dealer plus detax it will be "only" 18.900...

It's interesting, but I would keep that nice looking Daytona and save up for that one.

Ha ha ha.......and when i say stunning....i mean seriously stunning..... Of course, i hear of some people on TRF who, when asked such a question, would have said it was a fake.......admirably security consious.............. But trust me.....that would have been like admitting i suffered from leprosy on this occasion.....

Having lived in central London for many years and travelled extensively all over world, I can read situations pretty well and whilst some of you may think a nightclub in Warsaw is a place to be wary, i can assure you, there were plenty of other Rolex, APs, PPs in that club that night...... So nothing out of the ordinary....... Other than being such a beautiful blue colour.........

If she was that gorgeous I not only would have lied and told her my watch was a one off platinum Sub, but also somehow crow-barred my Porsche into the conversation.

If I am going to spend the big coin on all gold, it will be a yellow gold Sub with blue sunburst dial. Just don't dig the smurfy shade of blue.

I love the smurf, all these pictures really bring out the beauty of the watch.

That being said, for me it doesn't do it as I already have two watches with blue and if I'm going to spend grail money, I want YG or RG. But I do love the "stealth" look of the smurf.

Yes my Porsche would have entered the conversation pretty soon.... But as I mentioned, I was rudely interrupted by my girlfriend who, i would add, also fell for my irresistible bar chat and clearly visible accoutrements .......

Lately I have felt an urge to sell my SS SubC and my AP and become a OWG with the Smurf, good or bad choice?

Tried one on a few weeks ago at an AD - the pics here are stunning but don't do it any justice to actually trying it on! I'm a long way from being able to afford one, however, I would def consider it once I've saved enough!

It's the nicest watch Rolex makes. It's made for a humble man who is self assured and needs to prove absolutely....nothing.

It is a beautiful piece and I have owned it a couple of different times. Unfortunately something else always catches my eye and off it goes. An everyday piece certainly. The blue is gorgeous
