I first got into Omega and still like a good amount of their watches. My Speedy Pro is a keeper but I'm likely selling my PO 2500D soon but I could see picking up another Omega sometime. Tudor's look great and I like the BB but Everytime I look at one I can't quite get over the tall case shape compared to what I'm used too. The side proportions of the BB just bug me enough not to get one.
There are other brands out there that I think are pretty solid that are in my price range like IWC but I don't see myself ever getting one. Doubtful I'll ever get into PP or AP. Both from a cost and style perspective they don't do it for me...at least not in my 30's. Sent from my VS996 using Tapatalk

I am an impulse buyer. I went in to buy a sub, any sub(date, lv, etc)and there were none available - I ended up with a Pelagos, and it's been a pleasure owning it. I still want a sub tho.
If Rolex is not an option, I'm looking at AP, JLC, IWC and Patek. (Own a 2500 PO, and a few other brands) |

I’m all over the board on brands. Just depends on if a particular watch speaks to me. Feels good to branch out.

Omega or IWC for openers. I am sure a little shopping would reveal others.

I think this might be what Rolex intend to do by reducing the production of sport watches: Driving potential customers to Rolex 2nd line - Tudor. Tudor is not that well known in the US and less expensive. As Rolex increases the price and moving up becoming less affordable, they want Tudor to fill the hole and capture the lower end market instead of leaving for other watch manufactures.
Me: I would like to take a look at Submariner that I heard so much about from friends, TV,.. AD: Sorry we are out of stock at the moment BUT check out the Tudor made by Rolex with in-house movement, as high quality, but you save a few thousands, we happened just to receive a few of these, would you like to try it out??... Me: My friends don't know Tudor, I'd pick up an Omega next door AD: Hold on, let me put your name on waiting list for the next shipment of Submariner Quote:

I’m good with one Rolex and one Omega as my rotation.

I'm not interested in other brands. I will continue to work on my three Rolex collection goal. It might take longer and it might not. I'm not sure. But I'm in the minority here in that I'm not interested in other brands.

If I had to switch?
I'd probably go with Omega. Had one previously with bulletproof reliability and like the watches. That and the price- OMG! On davidsw- you can pick up a used planet ocean 600 for $3975. Or how about a 60th anniversary speedmaster BNIB for $8875? That's a lot of watch for these prices... |

Seiko in the > USD$500 divers for daily beating.
If one and only Tudor, perhaps a Pelagos. To pair with Rolex? PP 5711 Dress? Not really into dress watches but it would be JLC Reverso. Truth is I'm a Rolex Fan Boy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just sold several pieces, including my last one two days ago, and I'm finally really trying to follow my "3 Piece Rule" since I rarely wear anything past my top 3. If I were to get something, it'll likely be an Omega Speedmaster Pro. I'm not a fan of chronos, but it's just such an icon.

Polaris and 56 are nice new Basels, looking forward to checking them out, but VC's tightness with discounts will kill them now and they have such an opportunity. Lange also need to loosen up if they want a piece of the action.

The only other watch I may be interested in is a 42mm P.O.
Aside from that, nothing. I have a few watches that I was hoping to get by the next couple years (SubC, BLNR, and ExII), but if Rolex does a major price increase (SS SubC $10k+) and limits supply, I'll just wait until I am retired and have more discretionary income. Maybe in 30 years or so. |

My attainable grail watches right now are an IWC Portuguese and, maybe eventually, a JLC Duometre. Gonna wait a while for a milestone or something to celebrate though... and for the watch fund to regenerate.

There are so many great choices from AP, Lange, VC, JLC, independents... I don’t want a collection of 20 Rolex watches anyway.
