Why can't Rolex make an "Ultimate" watch?

Let's look at Omega new Seamaster, they have chronograph built in and a second time zone. But Rolex can't even combine two functions into one watch? Seriously, how hard is it to add a GMT hand into a Submariner? And when will their chronograph have a date?

The Ultimate watch Rolex should introduce is a Day-date, chronograph, GMT and Milguass functions build into a Submariner. It makes our life simple rather debating what we wear everyday. Unfortunately, they introduce something we don't need and can't use for, the "Deep Sea".

So let's mold 5 into one, and call it a day!?!?
How about we all wear the same watch, clothes, & drive the same vehicle...that would make more sense!!

Interesting to look over your posts - especially your first as an introduction here. Seems to be a trend with you.

I've also sent you a PM asking for an explanation about something else that's concerning me. I'd like that answered ASAP.

So Rolex should sell only one model? No of course not, that is why there are all these different models with different complications

Is this the watch you're speaking of?

http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/sp...mt-chronograph

This is actually a Speedmaster.

Here's another:

Ok, I know what u guys are thinking. You all think this is a joke and not take it seriously. But let me ask you this:
How many times you wish to time how fast that you can swim across the pool with your Sub?
How many times when you travel on a plane and wish to set your home-time on a Date-Day?
How many times when you have an Explorer and want to time the sound of the thunder for determine the distance?

Okay, let's forget the brand like Omega, Seiko, Longines and compares apples with apples.

Look at the Patek Philippe "Aquanaut", Ref.5167. This is their basic diver watch. Now, they add a second time zone on their new Aquanaut Ref. 5164. Everyone won't be wear the same watch, because they still have the older one available. "You have a choice. Do you need more for less?"

The Rolex, it's the same old; same old; same old. ugh If you guys don't act together and send a strong message, Rolex will think that we are happy of what they have right now.

I think Omega gives you the ability to get a chronograph with almost any model they make. They also provide dates on some of these chronograph models and other options as well. Kind of like what car manufactures do with a base model. Buy this model with this option pack if you like. Rolex doesn't, with exception of the Sub and the Sub date.

This formula seems to be working for Rolex pretty good so far. Their product lines seem to be pretty well known and understood. To get a chronograph you need to buy a Daytona. Yes it won't come with a Date, but if you want a Day and a Date you need to buy a Day Date. It's pretty easy and you know what to expect.

Answer to the OP. Do you wear a boilersuit with a built in tux, hawaiian shirt, polo shirt and shorts???
horses for courses, I go swimming, I wear a sub, going abroad use the GMT, spending time watching motorsport then its a Daytona. I think only James Bond is really in need of an all in one watch with built in GPS tracker and laser beam and not forgetting the circular saw.

But not if they made it in orange, bright pink, neon green, cedar green, banana yellow, baby blue and brown. (And perhaps a two-tone red and turquoise?)

On topic though, I would be much more inclined to look at a Daytona if it had a date.

1) Mark Spitz i ain't, no desire to time anything other than an egg

2) Sub Date works fine for me, if i'm on a plane it's usually because i'm off to somewhere nice, don't want to be reminded of the time in Blighty

3) counting aloud does a good enough job

same old, same old .....classic designs, tested over time, my life's busy enough as it is, i don't need the dial of my watch to be busier thanks
