RIP MSgt Joshua Wheeler

This one is a little close to home. We lost a special operations soldier early Thursday morning(Iraq). While many sleep peacefully at night our guys(American Soldiers) are out there in far away lands fighting the good fight, trying to make a change in the world in the best way possible they know how. These are just great men and woman who have volunteered in the service of their country to defend and do some good work....in this case to free hostages that were bound for certain death at the hands of terrorist. 70 prisoners were saved, though not american, they were still lives....

I'm thankful for all military men and woman who are out there in service. Msgt Wheeler leaves behind a wife and four little ones. He died a warrior and hero in my mind and heart.
RIP Msgt Joshua L Wheeler
You will not be forgotten.

The man was a lifetime military man and part of DELTA force which means he was for the U.S. Military the best of the best. A 20 year veteran having served 14 tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan which is unfathomable to me. Chris Kyle, the subject of the "American Sniper" movie by Clint Eastwood staring Bradly Cooper served 4 tours, four more than me but stands out as a meager comparison.

I point this out not to denigrate Chis Kyle but because it's clear that this soldier, this warrior wanted nothing more in his life than to serve his country, his fellow soldiers and to take the fight to the front lines. That is not common and I think easily dismissed as obsessive or misguided, I feel just the opposite it's the epitome of selflessness and courage. There is no thank you large enough, there is no commendation valuable enough or shiny enough for his friends and family but I can from the bottom of my heart say to his memory and his loved ones THANK YOU!! and RIP

His high school, Muldrow in Muldrow Oklahoma, did the right thing, they acknowledged his passing and sacrifice, honored him by standing and bowing their heads, having a moment of silence and then going on with the day, I am in awe!
