The watch looks amazing considering you used it daily for 36 years, with the patina some may say it looks better than ever.

The 1665 Rail Dial is my favourite watch that is relatively attainable (compared to an Omani 1665, Comex, etc.).

I should also add, that the OP has a fantastic story and that this particular rail dial has amazing provenance and still looks great, considering it has been a daily watch and used for its intended purpose over so many years.

Thank you very much for sharing your story. The importance of a watch is based on the stories that can be told about them.

I'm sure the OP's son will look after it, given its history!
