Any idea on Vintage RO Restoration Cost

Anyone have an idea on cost to fully restore a 1970s AP RO 4100BA?

Service + polishing, possibly bezel replacement

I am looking at buying the watch, but am worried the restoration may cost more than the watch itself.

Thanks in advance!

I’d contact APSC and talk to them about it. Even though neither of you will know for sure what may need to be addressed before the watch is opened up, you can at least get a general starting point. They are very easy to deal with.

I would definitely do that, just not really in the cards to get done before I purchase the watch as the auction ends today.

I love the watch, but I suppose it is a gamble. The watch will likely need full movement service, new bezel, and case and bracelet refinishing.

I see...not that this would be accurate (but maybe for some perspective) since it’s on a modern watch, but I was told for a full maintenance service and bezel replacement on a PM Royal Oak, it would start at $2,551. Good luck with the decision! Let us know what happens.

I guess worst case if it would cost an arm and leg to refurb, then always the option to move on again at hopefully minimal loss if you get a decent deal at the auction.
