I like the 5, but like the 6 more. I am rough on my watches so having the ceramic bezel sold me. The old 5 would be scratched quickly and drive me nuts. Would like to own the Blue dial YM, but it scratches too easily. I am less OCD about the case or braclet getting scratched. The 6 digit braclet is so much better than the 5 and the glidelock is such a wonderful feature. Beautiful duo of each reference.

The quality and robustness of the bracelet, the bright lume, the shiny ceramic made me fall in love with the 6 digit references so much so that I replaced my 5 digit pieces with their 6 digit counterparts. Please see the transformation below! I am super happy and thoroughly enjoy the upgrades! My fellow TRFers Please tell me do you prefer the 5 digit models or the 6 digit models & why?

An incredible collection would be ... if you kept both sets! How cool would that be?!

If I could only keep one of your sets ... without question, it would be the modern 6 digits. I don't really like vintage at all. Having said that, again, I do think having both sets would be absolutely incredible.

Can’t justify having two generations of the same reference. I’ve got to work harder!!

I love the durability of the ceramic and the more substantial bracelets, but hate the out of proportion (IMHO) lugs.

I like both 5 and 6 digits but I would say I prefer the 6 digits for the same reason the OP said. The new bracelets make going back to the old bracelets really difficult. The 6 digits have a more premium feel to them. The 5 digits still have the charm and there is plenty to love but picking between the 2 it goes to the 6 digits.

Here's my mixed collection.
