yah we do this repair regularly. We TIG weld in filler 904L SS then restore finishes.

Rolex SS is proprietary. So the weld won't and can't match the original steel which means that it won't polish exactly the same way, reflect the same way and when the light hit, the refraction/scattering won't be the same either.

We've performed this procedure hundreds of times and we haven't had a single complaint and believe me customers treat their watches like babies so there's no way they wouldn't be able to tell.
