Icon14 Michael young restoration

I have a two tone Daytona
Wear it for twelve years since new
Never off my my hand regardless of what I was doing
Short story the band look like shit
You could see each connection point and pens, stretched about a 1/4 inch At most joints
Sent it Michael young in May 2015, got it back on first week of July
I was scared to death doing it
He replied along the way
Smooth transaction
Cost $588 because a if extra stretch
I am so happy, will do it again if I have to

Man that looks nice! How's the Daytona head look after 12 years of daily use?

The watch head looks fine, I kept it clean often
Wearing it 24/7 reagardless of type of work you do, I don't recommend; the band stretches and you could see
Shoot, I showered with and went to bed with it for as long as I had it; never serviced by any one other than me, watch works fine .
Cleaning it with jewelry cleaner and buffing cloth
Rolex makes the same exact Daytona I have today for two times the money
I paid when I bought new

this work is beyond the initial cost:

If you will take your band to a jeweler twice a year and have it ultrasonically cleaned, you will find that it won't grind itself away and get loose as quickly.

12 years of wear and tear 24/7 is not quickly
By profession , I'm a license professional engineer for over 30 years
Regular jewelry cleaning , ultrasonic periodically was done.
Ultrasonic is simply a vibrating container with jewelry solution in it ,, nothing really special
It's a hype
Metal fetiuge, friction and stress from continuos wear specially if you wear in bed every night where it moves to your upper wrist and force stretching
And heat has a lot to do with it.
Best suggestion is not wear it at night in bed , during hot or any shower and miscellaneous dirty mechanical , auto, or construction activities ; those are a lot of my activities with watch on, sounds stupid, but I did not care and I would wear it anyway
Did I not know, yeah I did
I did not care and did it all with watch on
Now I try to respect it and not stress it for what it was not really made for.

All stainless would have served you much better with that type of usage. 18k gold just doesn't wear well - too soft.

MY restored two of my SS bracelets, an old 9315 folded-link and a newer 93150, and the results were excellent.

And I'm a watchmaker by trade. When there is dirt and debris in the band, you grind out the material. This makes bands "loose."

I am sure there is someone, somewhere but MY is worth the weight/shipping from everything I have seen. Had a friend send a Tt jubilee to him that I thought was trash. Came back looking like new for a fraction of what a new one would have cost.

Probably, but the question is, why wouldn't you want to send it to MY?

Apparently not. I have not heard of anyone in the US that can restore a trashed bracelet. Michael Young has certainly found his niche and have saved folks thousands when you consider how much Rolex charges for a NOS replacement bracelet. A 93153 TT Oyster bracelet for my 16613 is apparently over 4 thousand USD from Rolex. Mine will definitely go to MY for a refresh before I shell out that kind of coin.

Would love to see how he does that; must take it apart, add material and replace each pin?

He has a specially made vice that pulls the links apart laterally. He also uses special sleeves that slide over the worn pins that tighten things up. Also he can add gold where needed on such bracelets. Truly a craftsman. Surprised nobody in the USA has the knack to restore bracelets. There is definitely a market for this service.

What do you mean, the bracelet of the opening post shows solid links.
There is no difference in links between the newer style bracelet and this bracelet, only the clasp is different.
