Anyone Familiar with this Rolex Datejust?
My late mother received a ladie's Rolex from General Motors, Chevrolet Motor Division, in 1986. She put it on her wrist once to look at it and never wore it again. Pristine from her bank deposit box. It is a model #69178, all yellow 18K gold, Datejust watch with diamond markers and jubilee band. It is in the original box with a green plastic serial number marker that matches the watch serial number (95xxxxx). Still looking for official papers. The face has the subtle motif of chevrolet bow ties on it, all Rolex factory original, nothing aftermarket. The back has a Chevrolet bow tie and the words "Diamond Jubilee" and "1911-1986" and "Award" lightly etched on it. Obviously in impeccable condition. Want to sell as part of estate.
Anyone know anything about this watch and what it might be worth? Appreciate any input. Last edited by sleddog; 12 June 2011 at 04:32 AM.. Reason: Email removed! |

Yes they were awarded to select dealers.
I have a couple friends whose parents owned dealerships in the 80's and each own one. As for value, there really is not much of a premium on them even less so on the womens models.

Agree and most people(women especially), would not want a Chevy insignia on their expensive watch(unless they happen to love Chevy's).

Here's some input!
In my view, you are trying to solicit a sale by posting a thinly vailed offering, and by doing this you are in breach of the TRF rules!! I suggest you read through the rules before continuing any further posting on these boards. If I see another post like this from you, it will be your last! For anyone thinking of contacting this person, I'd suggest a high level of caution.
