What would you prefer.... @ £30,000 gbp

1) ap 15202st and rolex 116500
Or
2) pp 5712

Almost exactly the same money, as almost as hot as each other, would you choose one patek or two from the other houses??

I'm in the same boat..

Leaning towards the 2, as I've no chance of getting a 5712 right now..

5712 for sure. If you can add to it the Daytona C and you're done with watches forever

1.
I would take the 202 over the 5712. (I would take the 5711 over all)

Daytona is just an amazing bonus watch in the equation for me.

Think you should really change it so its at 40k. 15202 RRP is close to 20k and is selling above retail and we all know the story with the Daytona. Similarly, we all know the position with the 5712 unless you have the ear of a friendly AD.

Got rid of my 15202 for the 5712. Only thing I miss is that I no longer have an AP bracelet in my collection. IMHO its the best bracelet out there and looks great when it catches the sun

I own and love these three watches, which to me are today's most iconic SS watches in the market. My clear favorite is the 5712. If you believe that ‘less is more’ and that having only one watch is ok, there is no better choice (at all!) than the 5712. Most of us, however, enjoy having some rotation options, and the combination of the 15202 with the Panda 116500 is just fantastic too. Very difficult to pick one of the poll options here... I believe the 5712 is harder to get than the other two, so maybe if you have the chance to buy a new 5712 I would advise you not to pass it. You may not have another chance in years... The 15202 and 116500 are not easily obtainable either, but not as difficult as the 5712. The only long term solution to you is to own these three references.

If you are looking for something else other than the above 3, 5960A would be a good option. It has an AC, Chrono, Power reserve and Day/night indicator. It has more complications than any other regular production steel model.

I think 15202 and Daytona is more versatile. If you have a few modern Rolexes then I vote for the 5712. The 15202 is an awesome piece and as well finished as any Nautilus.

5712 is too thin for me to be worn all year. Daytona is probably a more robust watch, coupled with the dressy AP, its a no brainer, the dual wins!

Very well said; I own two of the three watches discussed and the only one missing - AP - is definately on my list. There however, I would clearly prefer the 5711 over the AP.

Or option 4 sell them both and he’ll be close to a 15407st...

Now I’ll run back to the AP section

Even though I own both the 15202ST and 116500, I would choose the 5712/1A. Maybe it's just that I am recovering from trying on a perfectly sized one last night, but it really is a fantastic piece that I would give up both for. The gentleman's piece I tried on last night has been his daily watch for the last 3 years and it still looked Great, so no worries on durability for me!
