Incoming! Habring² Felix

This is a very interesting watch I think, albeit perhaps partly for the story behind the company that made it, and the movement, rather than the exterior design, although I do still find the design appealing. Very simple, somewhat dressy, but still easily worn "every day" with jeans and a shirt as well.

It's the ideal size for this kind of watch for me, at 38.5mm, and nice and thin too (approximately 7mm). It's also very consistent and accurate, running at +1.5 seconds per day after a week or so. It also winds really nicely, something that I value quite highly (I also much prefer a manual wind watch to automatics). The movement is finished in a fairly "industrial" way, but I believe this is a deliberate style decision, and it's something I actually appreciate, as it makes a change from the norm.

I guess many here will know the "story" of Habring², it's a very small Austrian company, led by a husband and wife team, and the movement in the Felix, the A11B, is their first true in-house production (albeit I believe based loosely on existing technology, for ease of maintenance - don't take my word for this though, I'm far from an expert when it comes to movements!). They produced the Felix to celebrate their 10 year anniversary, in 2014. They don't make many watches in total each year, I believe only a couple of hundred, yet their prices are I think extremely competitive for what they are.

(Sorry for the picture overload, I'm a terrible editor.)

Awesome watch.
I was just reading about this company a couple of weeks ago. Amazing company with a great story, love everything they stand for.

How was the ordering process? I also heard that you can somewhat customize your watch (not quite sure if this is true)?

Yes you can customise quite a bit, although as it happened the UK retailer for Habring had exactly the spec I wanted in stock, so it was a very simple ordering process for me.

Looks fantastic. I love the simple decoration of the movement. The watch is definitely on my radar.
