My first high end watch

Hello.
I wanna buy a first high end watch and i think panerai is the one.
Firstly i decided going for the PAM 372 but it seems that they now are sapphire instead of poly. The problem about Panerai is that the fakes are well made making it kinda hard to buy a pre-owned that being said i need to go for a new AD buy. Even if it was a hard to fake watch i think i want to buy high end watches new at an AD only.
What you guys think about the PAM673 (1000 limited)? Compared to the PAM 372 (poly or sapphire).
Should i get the PAM673 if i see it in an AD yet?
Im open for any other brand as a first watch. With a limit of (25k dollars). And keeping in mind that i want it to pass by my younger generations.

If anyone knows or has a PAM 372 sapphire wrist photo please share here. I would like to see how the light refletcts on the sapphire.

Ps: Is the saphire version has a anti reflective coating?

My first high end watch

1) Sounds to me Plexi-Glass is more important to you than the newer sapphire crystal version of the 372. I have a friend who prefer the latter than the former. Anyway, it is your money and your decision. No right and also no wrong. If I am not wrong. The “S” series and onwards of the 372 has the sapphire crystal.

2) In my parts of the world, the plexi-glass version are still very much available in AD and grey dealers alike. In fact, I was in an AD looking for a 372 with my friend hoping to see a sapphire crystal version but was shown a plexi-glass version instead.

3) With a budget of 25K USD, MAN! You should be able to get a 372, 424 and a 305 and some change for a few custom made straps. All current models and are easily available in most AD’s.

4) For me, I have not seen the 372 on sapphire crystal so I can’t comment. However, IMO, having a plexiglass vs sapphire crystal is more of a personal preference. I think most people will opt for the plexiglass as it pays homage to the original 6152. See, 1) as it will be you wearing it.

5) The disadvantages of plexiglass is it is easily scratched. Even when wiping it clean, you are actually scratching it. You need to use toothpaste or some cream to polish it. No such problem with the sapphire crystal.

6) Since you will treat it as an heirloom to be passed to your younger generation, you should get a Special Edition instead of those regular production models. Need not have to be 673. Since your budget is so high, you can get a 372 for your own wear and another SE like the newly released 720/721 Radiomir.

7) I do not have the 372, I prefer the 673 because of the Special Edition thingy. In my realm of the PANERAI world, 372 is so common as if it is a staple. Here are a few pictures for your perusal. Good luck in deciding which to get. As for PANERAI, you actually can’t stop with just one, two or even three watches. It is an addiction.

673 mounted on a DaLuca Swiss Ammo strap.

422 mounted on a Vintager (Micah’s) Mauser Ammo strap.

Yes probably after i get a panerai i will get another. Probably a smaller one or one like the PAM 305. The PAM 682 is kinda a mix of both.

can’t go wrong with a plexi 372, i have an original ‘n’ series and love it.

if the scratched plexi bothers you, grab some polywatch and poof....

good luck on your quest

Anyone tried the PAM 372 sapphire?
Is it way more heavy? Aesthetically changes?
Ps: If i decide going for the 372 and find a AD with the plexi im probably getting it instead of the sapphire.

422 vs 372 and 422 vs 111

The 372 is really winning above all panerais im watching. Also the 422 guides me t
on the plexi vs sapphire glass. Where plexi seems be better in a aesthetic perspective.
Now the 422 dial i would like it in a smaller version that being said the 111 would be better for me.

Does it weights way more than a plexi 47mm version?
Ps: Being a 47mm sapphire watch it should have some weight added.

That's me in the picture on the left.

What I can tell you is that the 422 is a beautiful watch that would be perfect (for me) at 44mm. I ultimately let it go, as the size became impractical for me, but I do miss the aesthetics dearly.

Nice photo :)
Yeah the 422 is a beauty. Would be nice to see a 372 and 422 small versions. I would choose the 372 47mm and the 422 44mm.

How about the 390? Closest you can get a 372 at 44mm imo

A 44mm version of the 372/422 would be an instant hit!
