New for 2018 L' Astronomo Moonphase

New release for 2018
L' Astronomo Luminor 1950 Tourbillons Moon Phases Equation of Time GMT - 50mm to give it it's official title!
Man, I think this is going to divide opinions.
The watch itself looks amazing on the website, the detail in that skeleton movement....Wow!
However, there is one element that may or may not be a little contravercial - the LCD date!
Personally I'm really on the fence - I can't decide whether I like it or not tbh
What do you guys think..?

50mm? That's crazy. Not a fan of the digital date. Not sure how they thought that was neat or aesthetically pleasing.

Love it! Absolutely love it. As I said in the other thread, if the price is right I'll be all over it like a shitty blanket.

I suspect it'll be very expensive though.

Is the moon phase complication only visible on the backside of the case ?

Very cool, but somehow multiple complications just doesn't go with a Panerai.

Was hoping they would release some simpler designs or new materials. Maybe with the new CEO coming on board ...

It's not an LCD date.

The date wheel is laser modified borosilicate glass and the date wiindow is polarised making the date non reflective and glare free.

But it does look like a LCD.

I agree with Paul, if the price is right I’ll buy one.

Yes you are right - having had another closer look I can see that now, my earlier mistake - thanks for the clarification.

As another member said though, not sure about the moon phase being on the rear???

Apart from that it does look quite amazing.

50mm..yikes! Lol

New for 2018 L' Astronomo Moonphase

The watch it's self is amazing, I can take it or leave it over the digital date,
But 50mm come on !!! How many people can wear a 50mm watch?
I really get disappointed when panerai over size the watch.
Basically a display watch imo.

It has already been established that I made a mistake in my original observation that it had a digital or LCD date function.
Another member - directioneng - clarified that in post #10
Cheers

50mm is big, but not unwearable. Here my Pam is 47mm and is fine.

because in your post #16 you said "I can take it or leave it over the digital date..."
I was just clarifying for the record that it has been established that in fact it doesn't actually have a digital or LCD date.
That's all
