Too good to be true

Hi guys,

Saw this on a local forum and figured it was too good to be true. It's for an 2000s era TT black sub.

The first red flag is the paperwork has not been filled out. I wasn't sure if there are some exceptions or not, I've only been collecting a couple years. Next, the "R" seems funky on the warranty card and papers. Finally, the green sticker with sticker 16233 doesn't match up with a sub I believe.

Who knows, I just want final confirmation from you all because my greedy side wants this to be real so badly.

Thanks!

This sounds pretty trolltastic to me. First post and it’s all about the paperwork and not the watch itself. Really? “Found this on a local forum,” sounds a lot like “found this in a drawer.”

16233 is a Datejust, not a Sub . . .

If the watch has a 16233 hologram on the case-back, none of the accompanying ephemera makes any difference . . .

Dang, I'm no expert, but that entire package is as bad as it gets. That watch is terrible.

The reflection of the suede cloth on the box says it all. Don’t even bother with this. And unpunched paper? Lol

Don’t feed the troll. This guy knows it’s fake. You’re only helping counterfeiters by pointing out specifics.

Even if they get really good with the box the watch is still a fake. So your point is not valid sir. And I know what to point out and what not to point out.
Cheers

My point is valid. Making counterfeit papers and boxes is illegal too. Why would you want to help with that?

I’ve seen better boxes almost identical to authentic boxes and This box is from a few years ago and is poorly made. The counterfeit watch companies are never gonna be as good as the Original Authentic manufacturing sites. It’s the sellers who try to sell these watches as authentic. So as a buyer Everyone should do their dds. Me commenting on a poorly made box is not going to make anybody richer in China.

Counterfeiters do post on here hoping to get feedback. That is why forum members don't elaborate on fakes. I'm much newer to the forum than you, and I figured that out pretty quickly. Why do you think you know better than everyone else?

Exactly you’re new. I appreciate your concern but this topic and these threads between me and you aren’t going to contribute to anything.
All opinions are subjective and personal I respect yours and Id expect the same from you. And now you’re questioning my knowledge which I find offensive, therefore I will not be replying to your posts here. If you would like to know more about my knowledge Please pm me. Thanks

I apologize to anyone who thinks I'm a troll, I usually just refer all questions to an authorized tech or dealer but I heard good things about this forum. This watch was posted on a local for sale page. Why didn't I just send these pictures to a tech or meet at a jewelry store you ask? The man in question selling the watch told me he was working two jobs to pay bills and could only meet me at night. He was asking 5k for the watch. I was worried I might get into a bidding war with a jewelry store if we meet at one. I originally only had pictures of the watch itself, then last night I asked for pictures of the paperwork and box and I just immediately posted them here.

Obviously the paperwork is a red flag but I'm not an expert. That's why I came here asking questions.

No harm in asking. You came to the right place for advice. Ignore the rants and post again if you have concerns about a potential purchase.

At the risk of being the guy who thinks everyone is a troll...I’m going to go ahead and say I don’t believe this story either.

As long as you get your questions answered then there is no harm in posting a questions. We are all here to help. though based on a couple of things ...one price already tells you something doesn't smell right. also the watch itself doesn't look legitimate based on a few telling signs. The general consensus is that it's fake...so the "market place" has spoken.
