Neither, pick up a vca instead. Much more suitable for females. Have never been a fan of rolex female watches just doesnt go with the female look at all.

Definitely the first one if it's going to be your last gold & diamond Rolex. I personally like the look of the 31mm better for a watch with all of the bling on it such as the ones that you are interested in. The bigger, the more gaudy in appearance to me. I hope that I don't offend anyone. I know people will view this differently, so of course this is all just my opinion. If this is not going to be your last Rolex and you already see yourself buying another gold Rolex in the future, then buy the 36 DD if that's what you really love and want to enjoy now. You can get the smaller, if it's in the future for you, if or when you get tired of the large size.
These days you can get away with either size. I wear both now, but I feel the 31mm is a more ladylike, whereas the 36mm feels just fun and trendy. I'm not as sure of the longevity of the 36mm plus sizes on women trend wise, but throughout history some women have deified the trends anyway. There's always been women who have worn the 36mm+ in the past regardless of the current popular watch size for women, they just beat to their own drum :) All that said, I do much prefer the 31mm on you.

Neither, there is a mismatch between hand age and watch.
Pick up a 35mm white Yacht Master instead |

Day Date all day long, everyday, and when you're 60.
The Day Date is singing to you, going off your 1st post. I think it looks fantastic on you. If it's the Day Date you want, you'll look down at that DJ on your wrist for a long time, wondering, "what if....?" My wife, 38 years old, 5.5 wrist, just tried on a bunch of watches. Milgauss (40mm) was her favorite by far. |

The smaller one looks more feminine and discreet. The larger one shouts from the wrist "hey I've got a Rolex". Depends on your character which suits best.

Datejust for sure. This is a major investment and you're not fooling with a Michael Kors which you can just throw away if it doesn't work out. I just don't understand this trend (both men and women) where the face of the watch has to fill out your wrist. I think it looks better with at least part of the bracelet framing the face and the Datejust does that for you. Also, I'll put money that permanent links in the DD would have to be removed to get the fit you want and those links will be destroyed. My wife has similar wrist size to you (although the shape must be different from yours) and she needed 2 permanent links on her 26 mm Datejust removed to get a good fit.

Thanks everyone for your honest feedback. I think what I really need to do is go and try both watches on again (hehe, poor husband).
FWIW, I have been wearing a 26mm ladies DJ since 2001. I have this one with a blue diamond dial and a TT with a silver dial. I switch back and forth and have enjoyed them both. With this next purchase, I am hoping for a bigger face -- easier to just glance down and see the time. I told my husband that I was just going to get a 36mm SS DJ with a girly pink dial, but he said no because then he will just end up having to buy me a gold one later. *sigh* I'll never be able to decide... |

If your looking for the variety and have these two already, go for it. Get anything. With a regular rotation in your pocket spread your wings a bit and fun with it.

Purely on aesthetics, the DJ. The DD wears a little too big on you. Other than that, if you're happy with both, get the one that sings to you. Having said all that, IMHO the darker dial of the piece in post No. 72 does suit you more with your fair skin tone.
Good luck whatever you choose.

DJ...I don't like a big watch on a woman, to me it looks ridiculous. Maybe it's in style now, but what about in 2 years? A properly sized watch will always be in style.

I'm also going to say DD - both are stunning watches, but the DD is really a classic Rolex and the large dial is a good look on ladies IMHO.
If I could only convince my wife I could expand my collection!!

This is one of those situations where it should have been given as a gift and it sounds like you would have been over the moon with either of them. Sometimes "choice" appeals to our overactive cognitive reasoning. My vote is the DD and yes you can remove enough links to have it fit perfect. For what its worth, whomever you are about to buy this from here in TX should have offered to remove the links and show ya what it would look like. That's sorta poor customer service. With that said, I am betting you could purchase a DD right here from a trusted seller and save a truckload of $$$. Just a thought. If you are in Dallas I suspect you might be at Dallas Watch or Dallas Gold and Silver or a handful of other overpriced retail stores. Lastly, I'm not positive but it appears that both of the dials are aftermarket dials if that bothers you at all. Best of luck.

Mean to say dial and bezels are likely aftermarket. Not a huge deal but threes definitely a difference in value. Just ask to make sure. Be glad to help you if you are in the Dallas area.

Stand corrected. Sorry bout that. Did you ask them to remove some links to see how they fit? Thats why I made the assumption that you were somewhere other than an AD. I would think an AD would be falling all over themselves to show you how things should/would look.

The first one looks more proportionate on you, just perfect. the DD looks too big and in your face, nothing wrong with the 36mm but you need a bigger wrist to pull that watch.
