Batgirl sounds irrelevant. I suggest Batman2 or even better BLNR2.

While I agree with free speech... this is among the worst nicknames ever for a men's watch.

"Batgirl" has forever tainted the 126710 .I am afraid it here to stay as the common name worldwide .

I think the silliness all started with Kermit .....Why ?? Who knows

It doesn’t need a nickname. Rolex have already given it a name in addition to the reference number. It’s a GMT Master II.

It started with "Pepsi" and nobody than some childish members here in the forums will ever use the term "Badgirl" for the 126710 BLNR and thats fine!

I’m pretty sure it started with Pepsi, Coke and Rootbeer many years before 2004’s Kermit.

First post I can find is #11 by Padi56 in 2005 referencing the Kermit...

Greetings, new to the board post #11 10/11/2005, and that was referring to a fake one.

Anyway, not thrilled that they don't let us choose oyster vs jubilee.
They start this Jubilee bracelet "thing" with the Submariner line and I'm done with Rolex and not going back.

Batgirl is the most nonsensical name for a "gents" Rolex I have ever heard. Makes me facepalm.

There are many people on this forum who just love to ruffle other members feathers, just because they can... I wish people were more respectful, but I know it is wishful thinking.

Unfortunately for most people outside of this forum “116710 BLNR” is too much of a mouthful to say.... BATMAN is a quick and easy way of getting your ‘message’ across in regards to the Rolex you are talking about, to ‘joe public’...

And by the same token.. “126170 BLNR” is even more meaningless when trying to differentiate outside of This forum, and “BATMAN WITH JUBILEE” is again STILL too much of a mouthful for joe public;.. BATGIRL is simply EASIER for ‘joe public’ to say and to understand than “126170 BLNR”

Meaning unfortunately it is here to stay, as is hulk, smurf, etc... sorry to break it it to you

If someone says Rolex “batman”.. you know what it is

Is someone says Rolex “batgirl”.. you all know what it is...

It’s going to be very hard if not impossible to shake that nickname. Better get used to it or close your ears. No one is going to say the full reference or reference the bracelet when discussing it. I still say ‘batman with jubilee’ when discussing with friends and colleagues... but what I say or what I want is irrelevant

Agree , Batman with jubilee is more professional, you may prefer the oyster bracelet for the Batman, but calling batgirl being a gents watch is a little too much I think

It either needs a different nickname or it's going to stay. For example Kermit and Hulk are easily differentiated. When you say Kermit everyone knows what it is, same for Hulk. Even when you don't want to use those nicknames you use LV and LVc, so everybody knows. Same for lets say Pepsi. You can say BLRO and people will understand you. When you say a BLNR or a Batman, people think 116710BLNR and not 126710BLNR. BLNR naming issue can be solved easily. BLNR for 116710 and BLNRj for 126710. Done. Now Batman. If the 116710 is the Batman, then what's 126710. Jubilee Batman? Two words, too long of a nickname. Batgirl seems to fit the bill well. If there will be a new nickname such as Detective or Bats, sure, Batgirl might go away. Otherwise, it's here to stay.

I don't own either reference but I think it looks great with both bracelets.
