Rolex warranty - no name

Hi,

Is it possible to have the Rolex Warranty Card filled without the name?
It is stamped with the ADs stamp, together with a date of purchase, but with no
name of the "Purchaser"

I thought needed to be completely filled out?
I have edited out the name of the AD together with the stamp.

The card states it must be filled out. I'm sure not every dealer does that. But the card must be swipe at time of sale by AD.

So basically, If I buy this watch from the Gray who is re-selling it, there will be no official Rolex Warranty?

Definitely has to be swiped at the time of purchase, I picked up a new watch on Sunday and my AD showed me what they had to do to correctly and Officially register the watch

Is there a way to determine if my card has been swiped? Can it be swiped to see the status of the warranty?

Until last year common practise in the Netherlands when buying a Rolex at an AD. The card is swiped, but the purchaser could choose to leave the warranty card unnamed.

I purchased my sub 2nd hand and I have the full box and papers (under previous owners name) The watch is current at RSC for service. Will Rolex update any records with my name and associating it to the watch under service?

Have you asked the seller these questions?

Rolex ADs used to care less about this. Only a few years ago some would swipe the card (or not), some would give it to you blank to fill out, others might fill it out for you, most would leave stickers on if you asked. Nowadays each AD has a different protocol, but they all seem to revolve around some nonsense security process that likely does little to curtail whatever it is they are afraid of.

I think the whole thing is ridiculous. Once I buy the watch, swipe the card or whatever to activate the warranty, otherwise everything else should be mine to do with what I want.

I've got a fully stickered DSSD with no name. It's not terribly uncommon. Well, I guess getting the stickers is uncommon these days.

Not sure if ADs can write in any name..... For the two Rolex and one Tudor I bought from ADs, not only did they write my name, but also photocopied my license along with the warranty card.

Rolex doesn't register owner ship, no name required. Only some AD'S play their own game.

There will be as long as the card was swiped by the AD during the original sale

Most of my cards are name empty .
It is registered on the system on your name the moment you pay for it .
All bought from different ADs.

Are the ‘papers’ worth more without a name on it ?

My exp1 from 2014 which I will be listing for sale in a few weeks hopefully, Is a full set, will have just been serviced from RSC st James, with unnamed warrantee card. Would listing it stating specifically that it’s unnamed be a benefit, so the new owner can put his name, if he wanted, for example? Or would you recommend putting some celeb name on it? Looking to gain maximum value !

Having open-name cards is very common. And I believe it was even more common with the older paper certificates.

But no, I don't think open-name papers command a premium. It is my impression that, at least for common references with a card certificate that gets swiped to register and activate the warranty, the name of the original purchaser goes into the system regardless of whether it's written on the card.

It's like saying open-date papers are worth more because you can write whichever date you want on the card!

My wifes watch has gone into the RSC (London) yesterday.

No name on warranty card (photocopy only sent at their request) and bought from a grey. Warranty card dealer and date completed though.

Acknowledgement letter received from Rolex this morning.

It was purchased from a grey dealer. It came with the card. Regardless of the seller's answer, I would like to know as a fact, rather than just taking his word for it.

To be clearer with my question, is there a database that I could search myself or will an AD just swipe it for me and have an immediate answer?
