'nother new guy

I've been browsing around this fine forum for months and am finally ready to join in a bit.
I've always had an aversion to watches with batteries. Also, as a professional drummer, I am WELL aware that time travels smoothly... unoticably. This is why I have always wanted a rolex. Quality, durability and style.

A year ago, I took a huge chance and bought a 6426 on evilbay that was born in '59. It is far from original - replaced mid 80s crown & non-original face, but it runs well and I love it! I particularly love the light weight of it and the fact that it is quite a bit "anti-bling"!
I just had it tested to confirm it was well sealed and it passed the test, but my feelings are that this is a fragile flower.
So I have started to look around at what I might get next. I want something new or near new /simple (Air King maybe?) and as lightweight as possible.
I'll be keeping an eye on the FS forum here as I continue to learn about what's out there.

Is there anywere I can find alist of the weight of the Rolex lineup?
much appreciated.

Welcome
I don't know where you will find the weight of all the watches, but I do think some members here will be able to help you out. Also you can do a search of the forum, with over 250,000 posts, I'm sure there are some with weights.
One thing to consider is that 40mm is now the standard size of the sport/tool watches and so if this trend continues, the resale value of smaller watches may be affected.
Anyway, there is nothing at all wrong with the Air King and Rolex has just revamped it to give it a chronometer rating.

Welcome to TRF

Rolex are generally no light weights because of the precious metals and stainless steel used through out. However, the Air King or the Explorer are excellent choices in the lighter end of the line-up....

Welcome to TRF!

Now that is ONE helluva "weighty" question!

Unfortunately, although I have many links to provide, I have no link about that topic, nor do my Rolex books provide any info about it.

But very interesting question!

A list over the weight of all models would be great stuff!

thanks guys. My current watch has the vibe of an Explorer... I'm kind of feeling that for now... we'll see. As a drummer, the groovy decorative bracelet really doesn't work for me. Rubber or leather is where I have to go with it. i have a croc band with my '59 rollie mutt watch. I am so loving this watch!
