Wind up advice
Just got my first manual wind up watch
It’s a diver from the 60/70s. Probably needs a service but not in a location to get this done right now For those who use manual wind watches, say I wear it for a week, the power reserve is around 12 hours so is it best to give it a few winds in the morning and then again at night or should I be letting it power down fully then wind it up fully and repeat? Just wondering the best process for these |

If the power reserve is only 12 hours there is not 'best advice' for your situation other than it really needs a service.
Definitely fully wind it when you put it on but with a power reserve that low the amplitude and isochronism will be terrible. |

It’s a Cardinal Submarine 23 Jewels Super Waterproof 200m
I think it’s late 60s/early70s Same as this. What you think the power reserve should be? |

Agree. Using it may just add to the wear and replacement of parts. Since it’s vintage and parts scarce, you’d want to pause and have it serviced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How did you determine that the power reserve was 12 hours?
Typically, you wind a manual wind watch fully - that is until you hit the physical stop and it won't wind any more - once a day at the same time.
