Change spring bars

How often should the spring bars be changed?......is it just a case of leave it till each time the watch is serviced?

If you leave your bracelet on 100% of the time, then they should easily last until it’s time for a service.

If you regularly remove the bracelet and fit straps (or frequently remove the bracelet for the sake of it) the bars have a higher probability of failing. Often one of the sides will come straight out of the centre piece. if you change straps regularly, change the bars every couple of years.

Don’t mean to hijack but is changing the spring bars included in a RSC service all the time or only if they feel it’s needed? Thanks

Richie I don’t think that they normally do this, only if requested which I would. When I had my Seamaster serviced last year I had to request that they be changed out.

I also believe that Bas confirmed this with a Rolex service.

Thanks for input folks....as an added question, I believe it’s almost impossible to buy Rolex spring bars as such. So to get new spring bars before a service is due, do I just take the watch into an AD and they would swap out the old spring bars and replace with new spring bars?

I'm wondering this as well.

I ordered two sets of BLNR spring bars (total 4) as well as an extra BLNR folding clasp (cost a pretty penny ... and does not include the easy-link link) from my AD about 5 weeks ago.

The clasp had been delivered but not the easy-link or the spring-bars. I asked why the spring-bars are taking so long, he mentioned that they are on back order and that now Rolex changes the spring-bars every time a watch goes in for service. (The AD is an RSC also).

Useful to know, thank you.

Personally, I see no reason to mess around with straps when the oyster bracelets are so good.
