I hope thye go another route. 38MM Bath, 42MM FF, something other than 40MM FF. They don't need to protect those of us who got a MILSPEC or Kuda, but it is kind of a thumb in our eye if they don't.
I think they'll be smart about these FF LEs. I read somewhere in an interview where they asked Hayak about the 40mm FF cases, and he said he's reserving those only for limited editions. So far, the limited edition 40mm FFs have either been 500 pieces (Milspec & Kuda) or 250 pieces (BOCiii), which is fairly rare for a large manufacturer and in good faith protecting customers who bought them. I would probably do some things differently from a design perspective, but otherwise I have no complaints about how they are handling the limited edition FFs.

My guess is a Fifty-Fathoms with faded dial, no date.

38mm Bathyscaphe and only 100 pieces for $9,900. Dang, tempting.

Nice , but I’ll save my $10k... somewhat relieved .

Anyone know if all the barakudas are allocated? Was thinking of putting deposit down if still avail anywhere (US)

That's a NOPE for me. Hideous (IMHO) and definitely not worth $9,900.

I actually like it. Pretty much the same price as the original (albeit you could get the original at a discount). But, overall well executed.

I must be the minority because I like it too. A lot of watch for 10k because I have always digged the bathy but could not stand the date floating out there in the middle of the dial like raft in the ocean.

I do like it. I think it's a solid execution, but I don't really know why anyone would pay the Hodinkee premium when there is already a 38mm in the market (although with a different dial).

My $9900 is likely safe, just because it's tough to say 'yes' immediately to one of these releases without letting it wash over me, sleep on it for a night, etc. Was thinking of buying one just for the quick arbitrage though...seen the Omega and IWC trade for pretty crazy premiums just because of the 'dink branding.

It's not a bad looking watch, but something like a milspec blows it away, imo.

I don't get this mentality. A Rolex sub is almost the same price, with an old movement, worse power reserve and nowhere near the level of finishing throughout.

Well I bought it lol I must be so jaded because when I saw the price I was fine with it. My lease favorite thing about it is the co branding but at 100 pieces and with the well thought out dial I am good.

Nice. Can't wait to see the pics. I was tempted, and if I didn't have a Milspec I would've gotten one.

Thanks. I felt like I should just pull the trigger now and think about it later, haha. It is largely everything I want in a watch, so we'll see...

The info page landed at like 9:55, but I didn't notice the store page going live before 10am.

Grats. I didn’t have budget for this and kuda. I’m happy with kuda order. I agree at such a small run that value will
Likely hold for a little while

The sub is on a bracelet...and it's a Rolex. For 99% of the world, that's enough.
