Black Bay Chrono Case Work

Hello all - First off, great forum! I've been reading for a long time but never really had anything of value to contribute until now...

Yesterday morning, I was putting a NATO strap on my Black Bay Chrono and somehow, and I can't believe I am about to say this because I have changed thousand of straps, I lost control and it fell onto the tile floor in my kitchen.

The brunt of the impact occurred on the tip of the bottom right lug so other than a small dent (that I would be content to live with until I need a service) I thought this was nothing than a minor accident. The watch functions fine, chronograph functions as intended, and timed in at -3.1 sec / day.

Last night, I had the thought to check to see if the endlink from the bracelet would fit because the affected lug seemed "bent" to me and to horror, the endlink did not fit. Obviously I don't have 10 posts, so I can't post images but if you want to see them, I guess DM me and I'll send you a link to the imgr album.

My questions:
  • Has anyone else had this happen to them? If so, what did you do?
  • I am assuming that after I drop the BB Chrono off at my AD (today hopefully) they are going to send it to a RSC and offer to service & perhaps replace the case. Again, an assumption, but this is going to be a four digit repair, right?

Anybody can attach a photo as long as it meets the size requirements.

Probably a minute or two with a file to the inside of the lugs and your ends will fit just fine. It would be pricey to spend a couple of thousand for a new case for this.

I agree with you completely. Thankfully I have an awesome AD and the watch is now on its way to a RSC to do basically what you suggested.

I will check into the attachment stuff when I get back to my desktop.
