Have you guys been following the teasers on Omega's Facebook page? They're causing quite a stir on other boards. This is what has been released so far:

No official word on that yet. Over at WUS someone commented that this looks like a re-issue of a 1957 Seamaster:
It makes some sense, as can be seen from the additional dial details which become more apparent if the contrast is changed from the teaser image (this was also posted at WUS): |

Also doesn't look like a screw-down crown, does it?

Looks like it's using a seconds hand off a Speedmaster.

It is interesting that the bezel has the indication of Ceragold but the teaser of the bracelet seems to be SS. Maybe only the bezel markers are gold, like Rolex fills theirs with Pt.?

The colored pic makes it look TT. The bezel and crown are gold but the case appears to be SS.

It looks like the dial says MASTER Co-Axial. New movement?
I hope this watch isn't overly thick. If it is going to be a throwback to the old Seamaster, I hope they don't use a sapphire caseback. |

There has been speculation that it could carry a new manual wind caliber.

Looks sweet. I hope it has a hesalite crystal and a manual-wound movement.
I think another win for Omega would be to restart the production of the Cal.321 pre-moon Speedmasters (145.012 and 105.012) in their original specifications, for a very limited run of 50 or 100 pieces only. But maybe they save it for the 50th big anniversary of the Moon landing...

I was really excited for this release, but a TT diver just isn't going to do it for me. On the other hand, I'm glad to see Omega finally putting together a dive clasp with some adjustment.

A heritage seamaster might be cool , only releasing it in ceragold would not be cool , I am perplexed by the lack of crown guards

I really like the lack of a He escape valve and crown guards. Makes for a fresh look, imo. A launch only in gold would be disappointing, but not unheard of, as they could proceed to release the ss version in the coming years. On the other hand, that clasp and bracelet picture sure look like ss to me.
Truth is, what I really wanted to see was a reissue of the Seamaster 300... |

It'll be interesting.
However if it's really all gold and a LE, I won't be interested.

Crown guards certainly perform a function, but I don't think a watch necessarily needs them to be a true diver, just like it doesn't need a He release valve, or crazy depth resistance. |
