Are Day Dates below msrp yet ?

I know some things are falling below msrp already and the day dates were always 20-30% off at the AD for pretty much forever.

What "things" are falling below msrp? Do you mean watches and, if so, which models are below msrp?

Which models are falling below MSRP already?

Are you dreaming?

Haven't seen anything below msrp. Depending on your tax rate some PM models are at retail or minus a few hundred in high tax areas.

If you’re seeing any models selling below MSRP, post them here.

Since you already chose the WatchOut section they will fit right in (because I haven’t seen any genuine models going for less than MSRP).

MSRP would be nice. Below MSRP is a concept that has probably disappeared for the foreseeable future.

A lot of trades under MSRP in MODA. To name a few:

WG Sub

RG SD on Oysterflex

Yachtmaster

Patek 5524R

A ton of AP offshores

Vince M. You shouldn't have added the first part of the sentence to your post. Welcome to the internet.

Vince, are these classified as "pre-owned" or BNIB?

Thanks

The Taupe ROO was BNIB . The SD was full set and had a couple hairlines. The other I don’t remember.

Point being, there have been more and more trades around retail for BNIB or mont complete sets (which was nonexistent Q1 ‘22). Prices are still trending downwards.

Thanks, makes sense and I agree. Pre-owned and secondary market and it's going to continue.

The OP was talking about AD's when he said, "day dates were always 20-30% off at the AD for pretty much forever." I don't know about 30% "forever" but unless AD's have tons of these sitting in their cases "forever" I don't see this happening at AD's for quite some time. That was my point.

Ahh got it. Yes, the original post was unclear.

I'm here.

I guess I should have been more clear. This was originally in the general section but apparently a MOD moved it to here. I was trying to choose my word carefully as I wasn't trying to turn it into a "WTB" thread or drum up any behind the scenes inquires.

I am looking for a specific DD and was more or less seeing if anyone has seen them gray for less than MSRP. I KNOW AD's are not discounting anything yet. 3 years ago I could have picked up a YG DD for 20% off and was offered it several times. Didn't want it then but now I do.

When I had facebook, I was on MODA BTW.

I’m in the market for a DD40 (yellow or Rose with white dial)
I stopped into the local AD less than 24 hours ago - “we don’t have anything in precious metal”

Same as when my wife stopped in for me a couple months ago and when i stopped in before that and last year blah blah.

To note, they haven’t even asked for contact details so my guess is they have a long line of people that will pay MSRP for DD40’s

Yes. An acquaintance is on Moda and when I seen him last week he told me there are quite a few references trading at or just below retail. A 40k watch at retail or just below without tax is getting nice.

I’m seeing some on MODA that are, basically, at MSRP depending on condition. BNIB for yellow are basically $40 and change. RG’s are more

Yes.

Caveats: Less than MSRP + sales tax, if your sales tax is greater than 5.5% and as long as you count 2021 DD. There are 2 such watches at a prominent grey.

Last time we got 28% off from an AD plus return of the VAT
from Germany 20% for a day-date was in 2001
Then it was a lower discount like 25% plus 20% off for the return of VAT
In 2017 I got 22% off for the white gold, olive dial DD and 29% VAT
In 2020 No Discounts and No return of the VAT
2021 to present we paid above retail.
