I've heard really good things about the Tri-Hot putters. The red stroke lab seems love it or hate it as far as color goes, but I love it. I may have to take the dive on a Tri-Hot/5K, but the next Odyssey I have my eye on is a Toulon. I never tried a Toulon with a Stroke Lab. I have to decide if I want a 1 or 2 model though aka Madison or San Diego. I'm typically a Anser/1/Madison/Newport/009/BB1/BB0 type of guy, but I will say my latest acquisition was a basic Newport 2, Special Select and I'm really like Scotty's shaping currently on the Anser2/Newport2. Though I think he shortens the blade compared to some others crafting, so may be why me a traditional Anser style player really likes his Newport 2. I've been thinking a Toulon in Tour Silver with custom Red Stroke Lab shaft would look really sharp.

Max Homa was on fire with clutch putts on Day 4. But really so many great clutch putts by a number of players at the Cup. Btw Max has an amazing Scotty Cameron collection if you ever get a chance to watch his YouTube interview. He's a putter fanatic.

I will check out Max’s video!

What are your thoughts on oversized putter grips, Super Stroke, etc. ? Seems like a fad as you can limit wrist hinge with grip. I’m impartial…

Some people seem to really like the oversized grips. They believe it takes their hands out of the stroke. I've always been more of a feel putter and prefer moderate to high level of toe flow. So to me it always felt better have a pistol grip style where I could feel the rotation of the putter thru the ball. I like the standard Odyssey pistol grips, the Scotty Cameron Pistollini, Pistollini Plus, and Baby T Grips and then any of the Golf Pride Grips that are similar. Love the feel of the material in the SuperStroke though and why I probably like the Odyssey pistol grips as well.

If someone has a pretty straight back and straight thru putting stroke with little arc, I think the oversized putter grips could do them very well. It would make a a less handsy stroke and more of a shoulder stroke feel. I'm a feel player though with an arc stroke. I'll never go near an oversized grip for my putters. I think some players do use them more as a fad to your point. Some may benefit, but for many others it makes them putt worse.

That’s a beautiful 009! Great blade shaping and soft tri-sole.

I haven’t seen many come with double line alignment aids on the top line either. I bet your wife loves that putter.

What are you playing yourself nowadays? I’ve found the retail line is really good nowadays and was my most recent pickup with a Special Select Newport 2 custom order. I wanted to try a lower cost Newport 2 before buying something more interesting. Honestly I’m surprised how good retail Special Select line is. I hope Scotty brings the Teryllium insert back to a full production retail line next.
