⚠️ SCAM ALERT ❗️
Scammer operating on this forum and Facebook:

Stupid me for trusting him and sending money. BE CAREFUL out there!

...said it was for a "shipping" deposit, so the criminal just took the little money he could get and ran. Probably has to get back to Call Center scamming and duct cleaning.

OP's Post:

"I sent $550 as the deposit for shipping."

What a scammer scumbag...sheesh.

Yeah, it was the cost of shipping. He was asking $10.5k USD for his watch that I was ready to pay. We video called and we both found this quote on fedex with proper insurance and everything. It was the actual rate. All looked legit and no red flags…
I almost feel sorry for this guy. He showed his face, his real id, and used his real identity. How stupid do you have to be to do that if you’re going to scam someone?? Like if it was that difficult to find someone in today’s world…
I even had a guy from India reach out on Facebook offering me to track down this guy to give him a good beating…

What leads you to say the scammer was operating on this forum?

He was showing me his profile on this forum when we were on video as a "reference" that he bought some watches from people here - to "prove" he was legit. The only thing is I didn't catch his nickname, nor did I ask. I didn't even know of this forum before as I don't sell or buy Rolex every day...

Again, it all seemed legit, so I didn't bother. :(

One good thing coming out of it - I found this great forum for watch fans like myself :D

I'd never buy a watch from India.

Sorry to say there are some countries where you're just asking for trouble.

US for example (asking for trouble.)
Plenty of scams have originated in the US.

100% agreed. Definitely no more buy attempts from India. I never discriminate anyone based on their origin. So the idea of this being a scam didn’t even cross my mind. Certainly a great lesson for me.
The old saying once again proved to be true - if something seems too good to be true, it probably isn’t…

Yeah, be glad it was $500, not $10,500.

Also $10.5k for a used 124060 isn't even a great deal. You can get them brand new from US-based, trusted sellers all day long for $12k.

no... please no. back out of it or you'll wind up losing the watch with no recourse.

Please do not send anything! This guy is a real scammer. All watches he’s got are stolen or fakes. You will only lose your money. A few people already contacted me since I started this topic. Looks like this guy - Vansh Verma - scams people all over the world. While using his real identity… what a loser…

Hi all,

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to this forum and the community here!

Since I posted this here, I had 5 people reach out to me who were either scammed by this person (2) or were about to be scammed (3) but thankfully prevented it thanks to reading this post.

It's good to see this forum serves the watch enthusiast community also in this way. Proud to be a part of it!
