Favorite Putters
I know we have some putter fanatics here on the forums. I feel like it has been a while since any threads on the subject. Also some innovation in the industry over the last several years.
With the President's Cup this week, I thought a golf thread would be fun. Curious your: Favorite Putter brand? What is your favorite material? Insert or no Insert or roll control type face? Milling? Steel, Graphite or Hybrid shaft? Has anyone tried the 904L steel putters made by Toulon for Odyssey? How long do you typically keep your putters? |

Here are my answers:
-Favorite Brands would be Scotty Cameron, Odyssey, and Bettinardi. Current gamer is a Scotty Cameron SSS 009 with White Hot OG used occasionally on speedy greens. -303 SS is my favorite material. I also own carbon steel putters, but I find the 303 to feel more solid. Better distance control imo. I don't notice any benefit to German Stainless Steel putters. The Odyssey White Hot insert is my favorite insert, though Scotty Cameron Teryllium is nice as well. I prefer a firm or solid feeling face milling over overly soft. -Milled with a firm feel -Stepless steel shaft, except for White Hot that has Stroke Lab multi-material -I have not tried 904L, but curious being a fan of Rolex watches how this would feel in a putter. Toulon currently makes some of these putters in their limited shop. -I've had my Scotty Cameron Oil Can putter since the 90's. It's not my daily, but still a great putter. |

My 49 yr old Titleist Acushnet bullseye. Dad bought it new and it still has its green original grip. I Love it.

Beautiful putter Kathleen. I really like the milling on this Mizuno and the toe shape. It looks like fine milling, so I bet a lot of feedback. |

Odyssey 2 Ball for me. Absolutely love this one and don’t see it coming out of my bag for a long time.

I've only ever used White Hots as a gamer when wanting an insert. Original and the new OG. Both some of the best feedback out there. |

This one has been in the bag for 13 years. My game comes and goes but I’ve always been able to putt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Tried a lot of different putters over the years, but I always go back to my Ping Zing 2.
Old school I guess. |

For years, like 20 years, it was some version of a Scotty Cameron Newport. I prefer non insert putters, had various tour newports. Now, it’s an oddessy 7ch mallet with a plumber neck with a white hot insert.
The weight is great, it’s around 350g i would assume. Lines up pretty easily and I’ve been rolling it great. I found a mallet to be much easier from 3-5 feet vs a Newport. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Love a Mizuno TPM blade! Solid putter. Similar to what I have now.
Little story. My dad was a solid golfer. Played D1 in the late 60's, then what were the mini tours at the time. I was fortunate to spend countless hours with him in the sport, albeit never achieved his level. Right or wrong, he taught me to stick with one putter. He always believed developing feel for one good putter would yield better results than periodic upgrading. Because of that, still gaming an 80's Ping. |

Agree. Used a Ping Anser for 30ish years until I bought my Bettinardi 4-5 years ago. Very similar look/style. Might be my last putter!

I love my Scotty Del Mar, it works great with my stroke. I haven't gotten into changing grips and putter shafts.

Picked up a Piretti Matera about 10 years ago. Solid 303 stainless. Incredible feel and balance. Will never lay this one down.

Had many putters but keep going back to one that is probably going to stay my gamer for a while. Odyssey Mini Jailbird Red with SuperStroke grip. Just can’t seem to find anything that putts like this one.

Another vote for Piretti. If you live near Houston, its so worth the drive to go in and get fitted with them. Best money I’ve ever spent in golf....

One of my favorites. The 009 and Newport are so classic. I like how Scotty slimmed down the top line in recent years. I've been debating picking up a Button Back Teryllium Newport with the new shaping. I like the soft tri-sole as well they're using nowadays. I prefer the diamond/tour blast silver finish though. Seems to work better with my eyes. Bettinardi has the best craftsmanship in a production line putter imo. I have the 2022 BB1F in my rotation. Their flow neck is beautiful and is the only that I've found close to my Classic Oil Can Santa Fe. Which makes sense, because Bettinardi was milling for Scotty back in the mid 90's. I'm really hoping to see Robert bring a BB1 or BB0 style head to the Studio Stock line in 2023. |

I went from a basic Odyssey o-works blade to a top of the line double wide, 5k white hot putter with red stroke lab shaft. Big fan of Odyssey. Still 3 and 4 putting…but I’m having fun.
The President’s Cup had some incredible putts. Some from jaw dropping distances. |
