Like you, I had never heard of Lum Tec until a few weeks ago. After reading all I could find on them I decided to have a go. I called them on Thursday afternoon and got my new Lum Tec Combat B3 today. It is one big hunk of watch! It comes with both a black and green Zulu strap. I have it on the black one and like the looks and feel. It is very different from any watch I have ever owned before.... a true tool watch. Tomorrow I should have time to take some photos. Cheers, Bill P.

Interesting watch, Bill. It reminds me a lot of a Bell & Ross.

Saxon007, I have never seen a Tutima. However, you are right, it has a somewhat similar look to the Lum Tec.
Here is a full lume shot that I just took now that it is dark. Cheers, Bill P. |

ExpII is always a winner!
I like the Lum-Tech as well. The Tutima bezel has been around since before WWII, and looks great with the smooth case sides. Their dials have got the vintage models beat well!

Ultraman, You will like dealing with Lum Tec. They are a family owned business and the personal service is outstanding!
I am eager for you to get your watch and see photos of it. When did they say the watches will be ready to ship? Cheers, Bill P. |

I don't know, Bill. I sent my pre-order request last night (Australian EST) and I haven't hear from them. What is their turn around time to response to email based on your personal experience?
I'm very excited to see the watch in metal though!! You scored yourself a very nice Combat B3. Thoughts on getting another Lum-tec? |

Ultraman, I am not sure the time difference between the US and Australia. However, their customer service is outstanding! I did everything over the phone. I called and my watch was shipped within two hours! I am sure they will be back in a timely fashion.
The watch you pre-ordered really looks nice. I would be half-way tempted to get one like yours myself, but my wife would kill me! Eager to see shots of yours when it arrives. When do they expect to have orders on your ready to ship? Cheers, Bill P. |

DS/B Mini S (Mike), Isn't it interesting how the anti-reflective coating makes the dial look blue. You have some great shots of a fine looking watch.
BTW, where are you located in the upstate, I'm just over the line in NE GA on I-85. Cheers, Bill P. BTW, thanks Allan for the nice words on my EXP II photos.... |
