Aquanaught Rubber Straps vs Oysterflex Rubber Straps
For those that have both models and have worn both extensively in hot weather, how do you find the venting/not having sweat stuck under the strap of the Aqua rubber straps vs the oysterflex?
Thoughts and experiences between the two in prolonged hot and humid weather? Thanks! |

The Oysterflex is definitely very nice but I wouldn’t say that the over-engineered vents make that much of a difference over a regular rubber strap.
I think the key for any strap in heat is to not have it “fit” when you’re in a cool environment. If you fit it when you’re in the cool environment it will shrink and be more likely to stick to your wrist once you’re outside and hot. Just fit either strap a bit loose and you’ll be much happier! At least in my experience. |

I have a 5165 and a oysterflex Daytona and would agree I don’t think either is nicer/better than the other. Both are very well made. The vents on the OF keep the watch off the wrist a bit but not enough to prevent sweat when it’s warm out. The one nice thing about the OF, though, is the easylink extension for those hot days.

I didn’t like the OF strap when I had the WG Daytona. I didn’t like the fins on the underside and it made the strap sit too high on the wrist. I like the Aquanaut strap better.

I much prefer the aquanaut rubber strap...the oysterflex was uncomfortable for me. As has been said, I didn’t care for the fins, never felt right
