Red Aquanaut

Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk celebrated his title win with a rare Patek. A Red Aquanaut (ref. 5167-012A) I have never seen it before

Released for the Singapore exhibition last year. 500 pieces were made and I have seen couple of members posting their red Aquanauts on TRF

Assume this was given to him by Patek. Weird that he would be wearing a watch for this, so reckon he would have been asked to wear it for this in exchange for getting the freebie. If that’s the case, fair play!

The title win is going to be a rare one as well.

Excuse me while I go throw my red aquanaut away.

I do not think Patek gives their watches to any celebrities, this is not the way they do things and also what makes them different. He probably bought it with his own money.

In that case, an incredibly strange thing to do. Run to the dressing room to put a watch on. Weird guy.

Weird? I'm sure 99.9% of us would go get our Patek the second we could. Maybe he just loves his watch. That is a possibility.

All to their own, I’m sticking with my view that it would be a very odd thing to do!

Shouldn't they give one to the Player of the Season, Jordan Henderson? He shouldn't have to steal this one too after stealing that award...

Great player van Dijk and all the best to him. Not a big football fan but him and the goalkeeper made a huge difference to the team. Along with the manager of course! If I went to get changed after match and just won champ, I’d stick on my fav watch too.. you think MJ wouldn’t have? He’d be there with cigar and whatever chilling after win..
He also has the green one and the chrono also I believe. He is a big watch fan. There are many footballers who are aficionados and love Patek. Lampard has the Aqua chrono. Pirlo is an absolute legend and gentleman, big Patek fan. He has 5711 and others.

He's not running anywhere. He will have a guy to do just that work. Pass on the watch before any photo shoot!

I don't know how many of them are real aficios, seen plenty of footballers with Pateks and RMs now, with Social media these are all status statements now, 10 years ago if you didn't buy Rolex you were probably a WIS, not now.

Status symbols are RM, bling bling Bulgari or Rolexes. I doubt footballer making millions will try to show off with 50-60k watch readily available in the grey market.

Maybe they are blinging the $185K Bulgari Haute Horlogerie 53 mm Limited Edition?? Who knows I'm not up to date on the current bling trends.

They have this Octo with full baguette diamonds for $928k, that’s probably enough status even for these guys :)
