Nice looking car. The Honda brand has always been a super reliable vehicle but not so "stylish" in the past. They have really come a long way - Congrats.

Hope you can stand all the excitement of that engine.

After a month, you wont miss the MT. I sure dont.

I wrote a check for $25,000 for each of my Accords.

So I was paying $2500/year or $208.33/month. Compare that to typical monthly payments. Plus my cars had a tad of residual value left.

I am currently leasing an Audi A4, which I love, but I may revert to my Accord for cash for ten years plan.

I was just commenting to my wife how I really like the current accords. great cars for sure.

I feel you about the MT though, I'm in a 2017 GTI w/6MT and I wouldn't trade it for anything short of a Golf R with MT.

It’s a good looking car. And they seem to hold their value better than most. Congrats on the new ride!

Congrats on the new whip. The paddles can be super fun but that all depends more on the transmission and programming more than the paddles themselves.

I loved shifting with paddles on my DCT M3 but it was freaking useless and trash on a Lexus 350 F-Sport. It wouldn’t listen or downshift exactly when I tapped the paddle, it would register the tap then wait until speed was scrubbed to complete the shift, it drove me nuts, that car went bye bye.

Nice looking car. Congratulations and enjoy the new car. I played with the paddles when I first got them in a car, because they were new to me.

Four cars later, I don't even pay attention to them.

Good looking, economical, excellent reliability and resale value. I'm sure you will find it sporty enough. I have a 2014 Camry SE Sport and hardly ever use the paddles!

Congrats Grady, nice looking car. I just recently purchased a new one myself but decided to go the Suv route. Always had a car but the Suv makes it much easier to get in and out of, especially with my arthritis.

Congrats. Great car which will outlast anything. Unfortunately I think the manual transmission is all but extinct in the USA.

Great choice! I have a 2018 2.0T Touring. Not sure what the difference between the Touring and the Sport is, probably not much. I don’t use the paddle shifters often, when in sport mode it does a very good job shifting on it’s own. Almost 2 years in and I’m still very happy with this choice. I looked at the A5 and the BMW 530 (I think 530). They also have 2.0 Liter turbo engines, same HP, almost same acceleration times, handling capabilities. The Audi and BMW have more luxurious interiors, but the Honda is still very nice. My conclusion is the Accord 2.0T is 90% of the BMW or Audi at 1/3rd less the price. And it uses regular gas and oil changes are $40.

I would totally buy a manual. I finally got my driver's license in Europe last year, which is done with a manual, and learning how to properly drive a manual in a hilly Spanish city was quite a lot of fun. Completely different driving experience from an automatic. You feel... in control in a way you do not with an automatic, and much more involved. Of course here in southwest Florida, the land of driving numbness, a manual wouldn't be worth having because you're doing nothing more than going through the gears from light to light in a straight line.

On the topic of Honda manuals, I watched a review recently on an Accord manual and they said the gear shifter felt like it was attached to the transmission by a wet noodle. Did not inspire confidence.

Congrats on the new car!!

I have a 2014 Accord Sport that I bought new. Even in 2014 finding a MT was a chore. I actually had to special order it with the 6 spd. What I thought was odd at the time was the reduction in available options on the MT cars.

A few examples of this at the time were :

Automatic cars - 8 color choices
MT Cars - 2 color choices ( Modern Steel ( dark pewter ) or Black )

Automatic cars - Navigation available
MT Cars - Navigation not available

Automatic cars - Leather interior optional
MT cars - Cloth interior only ( only interior color choice - Black )

I got the impression they were deliberately reducing the options to dissuade people from ordering MT cars.

Nice Grady. I had a black on black 2011 accord until recently. Honda makes great cars.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.

I will say that if your going to have paddles, DCT is the way to go and, yes, I do worry about those wheels.

That was definitely the plan.

I used to drive a S2000 as a daily driver. Now I don't want to drive manual anymore.
