This is something that has happened to me on a number of occasions.

I am down a JLC reverse (Permanent loss)
Day date (Occasional loss as it seems to come back)
Patek Aquanaut (Occasional loss again)

I am sure i put my watches away carefully but they just keep on going AWOL.

My wife is so clever though. She always manages to find them when they have gone missing, and usually gives me the excuse that I must have left them laying about and she just finds them whilst tidying up after me.

I of course never argue with her, I just grin.
