Laser etched rolex logo on yacth master
I had a M serial platinum YM, does anyone know if there is a laser etched
rolex logo on 6 o'clock position? I can't find it. Can anyone confirm there is one? |

It takes some fiddling with angles to find the etching - especially against the lighter colored dials.

Get a 10x or 15x jewellers loupe and you should find it, move the watch around at varying angles, try shining a torch from the 6 o'clock position. I would say it is almost impossible to see with the naked eye. I only spotted the etch on my sub yesterday after buying a loupe. Or alternatively, as a lot of people here have done, is take a photo of the 6 o'clock position with a macro lens. You should see it then as well.

It can be really hard to see with the naked eye. Try a loupe or take a close up photo (macro) while shining a light on the crystal from the side.

Even if the crystal has been replaced (with a genuine Rolex one) it should be there. Service replacement crystals have a sideways "S" inside the little coronet. Think "~", there should be some pics of that floating around. Finding the coronet on such a light reflective dial can indeed be difficult...

These etchings are easier to spot against the darker dial backgrounds. JJ

I have a YM from around 04 and a Milgauss white dial from 08 and I can't see the damn etch on either. I am a dentist and i even tried with my surgical loupes and a halogen head lamp and still no dice on either. The Milgauss I bought from an AD. The YM i bought from a patient who is a vice cop (so I'm pretty sure it was evidence at some point). Most reps I have seen, the etch is impossible NOT to see because they are over done. Probably a good thing that you can't see it.
