Yeah, but still I did buy a good amount of them from them. It's just been a few years since I did so. Great people to deal with, very professional, extremely helpful, and more than a few GMTOs. I was extremely fortunate how great those deals were at the time. Timing as to when I was buying and when they were selling at the best prices you could possibly find couldn't have been any better unless I started just a bit earlier. Plus they don't even sell Edward Green and Gaziano & Girling any longer which just happen to be my favorite brands of shoes for design and fit. They stopped selling them when those brands started controlling their prices. Carmina at the time was also at a much lower price point. That is until their popularity exploded which probably had a lot to do with Skoaktiebolaget.

I'm not into dress shoes. Only for certain events I could wear it.

Ever since I've gotten into Vass I haven't gotten out. Dollar for dollar - no better made dress shoe out there.

I wear oxfords, loafers, derbys or monks on a daily.

Cheers.

Not dress shoes, but I just got these Alden chukkas in unlined ‘snuff’ suede. Though the Leydon last is not the best fit for me (the Barrie and TruBalance feel better), I am very happy with these after trying a few on. I know some people find Alden silhouettes a bit round, but I love most of their shoes and these are a favourite.

Thank you Dave. Things like Alden and Crockett & Jones are kind of a big purchase for me, so I had to love these too to go through with it. Been eyeing them for about a year!

Love quality foot wear from hiking boots to loafers. Life is too short to wear crappy shoes.

My wife call these my ”Kid Rock” loafers.

It sure is. Those loafers look comfy, Mystro. I’m not sure if your wife uses Kid Rock’s name as a pejorative, but my wife disapproved (the only time I asked) of my boat shoes: similarly unsupportive but not as beloved Topsiders.

I'm in a suit everyday and thus have a proclivity for dress shoes, which is the bottom half here. Mostly Santoni which I can't recommend enough along with Lobb and Bontoni. Gucci loafers for dress not tie affairs and AJ1's for casual.

I’ve got about 6 different pair of Bally’s and they’re the perfect shoe for me when it comes to dress shoes. Allen Edmonds are a close second.

I have four pairs of Lobb's and three G&G left. I retired from suit wearing about six years ago and my wife sold most of my collection on eBay. I was shocked how much people would pay for used dress shoes.

I've yet to do it with any of my better brands such as EG and G&G, but did so with my Allen Edmonds long ago and remember doing fairly well and this was over ten years ago. But then again good quality shoes do age and wear fairly well.

IKEA has made those shelves impossible to find. None near me have them and if I try to order it’s over $300 to ship.

Awesome setup man

I’m in the same boat…I have a few pair that are basically brand new and will rarely get worn and trying to find a way to find them a new home…

Maybe consider UK website Marrkt? They buy and sell (including from people in the USA/outside UK) second-hand examples of specific brands like the finer shoe makers discussed in this thread. It seems carefully curated and I think they have a decent captive audience.

My wife sold my JL Chapel's with the trees first. I had worn them a half dozen times and they were in like new condition. She got $800 for them. The buyer was ecstatic. I was shocked. The other rarely worn pairs went quickly.

I sold some used Gucci horse bit loafers on eBay for like $200. I was happy.

That's good to know Dan.

I managed to get a pair of Aldens in Ravello Shell Cordovan. The equivalent to a steel Daytona in the RTW shoe world. I wore then a few times, but now that I am mostly wearing bespoke...I may sell them...along with a special edition U-shaped blucher in color 8 shell cordovan.

I am waiting on a pair of dark brown pigskin loafers from Nicholas Templeman... a last maker from Lobb who struck out on his own a number of years ago. Wonderful young guy and all about service.

Thanks guys, never sold anything online. The pair that I feel are wasted most sitting in the box are Edward Green Chelsea’s. Gorgeous but only worn once…was bit of an impulse to wear something out of my comfort zone…lesson (maybe) learned…

Might be geographically dependent? I know here in LA they had a TON in stock. The boxes are pretty light, I would be surprised if it was expensive to ship, especially freight. TBH you could easily make them yourselves.
