Would the boutique give a 1-4% discount for cash vs credit?

New to the forum, still trying to navigate properly
No Boutique is going to give you a discount on a new Rolex these days. Credit card transactions are just a cost of doing business for them.

Credit. Easier to dispute charges and to earn points. If somebody steals a debit card, the cash is gone, credit card, you get an opportunity to review and dispute transactions.

My credit card offers a points system, you can convert these points into gifts cards and even towards your balance. A debit card or cash is very much one dimensional in comparison and offers very little upside.

My Rolex boutique won’t give any discount for cash, so I use credit card and get money back from credit card company.

AP AD and PP give 2% discount for cash.

It’s all about the points and air miles for me. Rack them up all the time. The credit card is 95% used for everything and then the balance is paid in full every statement. I know the credit cards that I carry have never made a red cent off me in all these years from an interest charge.

Credit all day. I mean if you pay each month, and don’t get hit with interest it’s free money (points, miles, etc.). Cash is useless and worth about 5 percent than last year. So unless there is a cash discount it’s silly.

I have had cash in my wallet for months.
Same here on everything, I save the points and that turns into my watch money. By using my points/cash back I was able to buy a BLNR grey market (and then got 2% back from that purchase. If your not doing this you loosing money every purchase. You Just have to make sure you payoff the card every month because if you pay any interest you loose the game.

The only major purchase I’ve made using actual cash was a car when I lived in Germany.

If I recall correctly, it all had to be reported to the tax authorities though as is common in most countries to prevent money laundering.

Otherwise everything else big & small goes on my charge card.

in a high inflation period... LIKE TODAY... Credit, ALWAYS credit.

why?

because as the currency is being deflated by over production and fractionalization, the future dollars you use to pay back that loan are actually worth less... thus making the loan 'cheaper'.

true story.
