New Seiko SPB171 incoming!

I stopped into my AD today to say hi and remind them I still like to buy a Tudor BB Chrono Panda dial at some point.

I looked around the store and meandered over to the Seiko display and saw a SPB171. I wasn't really in the market for such a watch but I have been interested in dressier watches on leather straps for a while so I decided to try it on.

I have seen the porcelain dial Seikos online but never in person. When I held the SPB, I was blown away by how beautiful the dial is. It has such depth and character, especially with the blue hands.

With my wife's blessing, I pulled the trigger and bought it. I look forward to living life while wearing this watch!

As I was checking out, my SA quietly told me that she had a BB panda in back and pulled it out. While that watch is already accounted for, it looked absolutely fantastic in person and I'm excited to get that call someday!

Thank you both!

My biggest complaint is with the thickness but from what I’ve read, the dial makes up part of the heft. But it doesn’t wear big.

I was also impressed with the variety of models and dials at my AD…lotta good stuff! I do find it interesting how wide a range Seiko runs, from relatively inexpensive simple watches up to spring drive complications. I’ll have to peruse the forum to learn more about their marketing strategy.

Thank you!

I cannot get over the dial. The case is nice but whatever. The movement is mid-range...nothing special.

But that dial. It's so rich, so deep. I don't think a GS logo would look out of place on the dial.
